20. Forward

When he picked me up I told him about the party. I also told my parents and they said yes because for two months I was in the house with them. Kai did not want to go at first but I told him that Sibo thinks it is what is best for our relationship. He dropped me off and picked me up after school.

When we got home I realised a flaw in my planning. I can not go out of the house in anything but hoodies and that will ruin my hair.

"Can I sleep over at your house tonight?" I know he is smiling, I can feel it.

"Sure, why?"

"My belly is slightly visible when I wear my clothes so I don't want my parents to start speculating as of yet."

"Go fetch your things. I am waiting." I get out and head to my room where I plan my outfit taking into consideration the weather. I pack pyjamas and my toiletries before I go back to his car.

"When do you want to get to the river thing?"

"It starts at six so at least get there by eight. I need a nap right now." He lets out a chuckle.

"Do you want anything for when you wake up?" I shake my head before looking at my phone. When we get to his house he takes my bag as I head to the spare room.

"You can sleep in my room, I am going to see Pacer."

"Oh okay. Wake me up when you come back." He nods and goes out. Everything smells like him. I love it. I slowly fall into a dream world.

"Kamo, Kamo, wake up." I open my eyes to Kai, looking over me. "It is six, you want to start getting ready?"

"Yeah." I go to his shower and I use his gel.
For the first time in a long time, I felt at peace. His scent is my zen. No, he is a murderer. A murderer that is my baby's father. Katleho's father is a murderer but I can not hate him otherwise Kat will hate him too. I need to see beyond the fact that he killed people.

"We are going to be sitting with my friends and teammates." He nods while I lead the way. My belly shows so much in the dress that I am wearing. It will be nice if no one makes fun of it or me. I can feel Kai, looking at it. He wants to touch it, I know he does.

"Hey Kid, I see you brought him, nice to see you again, Kaiser," Sibo says greeting us. I notice that Kate is next to Sibo. The chair space is limited so I guess I will have to sit on Kaiser's lap or the floor and I would rather sit on his lap.

"You can sit, I will just sit on your lap." I know he is smiling right now, he is excited about this. He sits and makes himself comfortable then I sit on his lap crossing my legs so that no one looks under my dress.

There is a fire burning in front of us and people are skinny dipping and others are in the cabin having sex. Around the fire, is Kate, Sibo, Entle and her boyfriend Ryder, Rele and her person Langa, Rayi and Jessica, Kopano and Jabu and Sibusiso and Tshepo. There are two couples I am not familiar with.

Sibo hands Kai a beer and she hands me granadilla juice. I thank her before trying to focus on the conversation.

"Yeah, were you there?" Entle asks Rele.

"No, what did Coach say?" Entle stands up from Ryder's lap.

"Guys, so Rayi and I were speaking to Coach today and she said that we get to try again, so a team was disqualified for doping and they want us to play against another team to see who can fill that team's spot. " Why did Kaiser get me pregnant? I cheer and clap hands for everyone but it was also my dream to go to Nationals.

"That's great, so Kamo is out the team?" Kate states too proudly for me to let it slide.

"Yeah, I will not be playing but I will be supporting you guys, You get to possibly qualify for Nationals, have we not been dreaming about that since grade eight?" They all start nodding and getting back into the happiness of it all.
