4- The new comer

It's been a couple of days since the kid I saved has been staying with us and we gave him some space so he can relax before we start to question him on how he ended up with a broken wing days before. After leaving Ravo to watch over the others Kían and I sat down with the boy and started to ask some important questions.
(Kadian, Kían, boy)

"What is your name kid?"

"Kamien Otwin"

"We're Kadian and Kían"

"How old are you exactly, I mean your obviously in your teens at least, right?"

"Yea, I am seventeen"

"What are you?"

"And why were you injured?"

"I am a Birman, we live independently from the rest of the world on islands all over the world in tribes and each island is its tribe in that area, I was banished from my tribe because the leader's daughter made up a lie that I was intimately harassing her and when I was leaving the vassal's followed and attacked me as a warning to never show my face again"

"What tribe are you from and where we're you headed?"

"I'm from the Yucca tribe on Scarsline island, I was on my way to Outlaw island where the Misty tribe is"

"Why would you go there?"

"I heard that's where all the rejects go, the whole tribe started because of a reject and he gathered other rejects and created their tribe that's way more accepting to change and to outside mates than a lot of the other tribes"

"I've read about the other tribes but not that one, why?

" because the other tribes don't recognize it as a tribe just an island full of angry rejects, but that's not the case at all they have become a whole new color and everything because of all the rejects from all the tribes go and live there a lot of them had found their mates within each other and overtime their colors had changed, their weapons are even cooler and they have a variety to choose from once you have your weapon ceremony"

"How do you know so much about them?"

"I'm a minstrel or knowledge keeper, I research and learn whatever I can and document it inside of my book, sadly I'm starting to run out of pages"

"I can make your book limitless for you"

"I still don't know how you know about them because if the tribes don't recognize them at all then where did your information come from?"

"Yes please do, and I have a friend who's from that tribe and we met because I had gotten myself in a little bit of a pickle and would have died if he didn't show up when he did and save me, after that we would meet up every chance we got without my tribe knowing and we would talk about any and everything"

"Where is he now?"

"He's probably looking for me now we were supposed to meet up where we always do but then the tribe trial happened and I was exiled, then the vassals attacked me and I couldn't move so before I passed out I sent my animal companion Blitz to go and meet him that way he knows something is wrong"

"Should we be worried about your friend storming the place trying to kill us to get to you?"

"Yea there is a lot of kids here and we don't need that at our door"

"No don't worry, if anything he'll be thankful that you saved my life"

"Thank goodness, well since you're not a threat to us I will introduce you to the rest of the family ok?"

"Sure"

"Kían go get the other please"

"No problem bro"

When Kían came back into the room we were in the others followed him in a single file line till they were all standing in front of me and Kamien. Once they were all in the room I turned to Kamien and said

"This is Ravo he's fifteen, Ash thirteen, Idria eleven, Rian & Ale ten, Etika eight, Duke six, Ivy five, Arrow three, Akia two, Zahra eight months, and the newest addition Chaz four months"

"Nice to meet you guys, if you don't mind me asking what are you?"

"I'm a Griffin, Ravo a lion, Ash a tiger, Idria an elf, Rian & Ale are Hawks, Etika a witch, Duke a cheetah, Ivy a fairy, Arrow a vampire, Akia a mermaid, Zahra an eagle, Chaz a demon, and Kían is a dragon"

"Really?, I've only heard stories about shifters like you I thought you guys were legends growing up, then my friend told me that you guys were real but I never thought I would meet you guys in person"

"I'm glad you admired other shifters like us that makes me feel good"

"When my friend finds me why don't you guys come along to outlaw island I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms"

"Tempting but no this is our home out here in the woods plus we plan on moving in a couple of years and this place has grown on me"

After the introductions were done we continued our regular daily schedule and just added Kamien into it so he doesn't feel left out, once everything was done and the kids were off to sleep Kamien decided to interrogate me to get as much information about everything he could to put it in his book.

This went on for about five more days before he knew everything I knew before he switched gears and did the same thing to me to Kían instead till he too didn't have any more new information to give. After that, he wanted to know what humans were like and any information about them, I could only give him a little bit since I mainly stayed to myself or in the woods with my siblings which lead him right back to asking Kían who obliged and told him everything he wanted to know and more.

Once he knew all information for everything and I mean everything we knew he calmed down on the hyper questioning sessions and our days and nights went back to normal, and I can't help but think that I dont want him to leave it's nice having someone new around.
