Family Reunited

Mr.L and Marvin snored as they laid sprawled out on the ground of the Yoshi stable, deep in sleep. The sun wasn't even up yet, but Blumiere was. Blumiere walked over to Mr.L and Marvin and nudged them both awake.

"Come on you two, we have no time to waste," Blumiere stated.

"But dad... I don't work until the sun comes up todayyyy..." Marvin moaned.

"Marvin, we're not at the castle," Blumiere told him.

Marvin and Mr.L both immediately snapped upright and looked around.

"Dang it! I thought it was a bad dream!" Marvin exclaimed.

"I wish it was only a bad dream..." Mr.L sighed.

Blumiere stood silent as both Marvin and Mr.L got up and stretched, starting to wake up.

"I already looked over the security footage with the shopkeeper Mimi, Dimentio was caught heading north, towards the mountains," Blumiere stated, "But before we go, I bought you both some travel clothes so you don't have to stay in formal wear."

Blumiere pulled out two sets of clothes and tossed them to Marvin and Mr.L, both of them catching it.

"So hurry and put those on, we have a long day ahead," Blumiere replied.

Meanwhile, back at the now ruler-less kingdom, it was just turning to morning, though the clouds prevented the sun from shining down. Everywhere seemed to be coated in black snow and ice, and the air was chilled so people's breath could be seen. All of the visiting royals and dignitaries took it upon themselves to help keep the morale of the people up while Mr.L, Blumiere, and Marvin all searched for Dimentio.

Mario was in the middle of helping to pass out blankets to people who were unlucky enough to be outside. He finished passing out blankets and walked back to Peach only to be greeted by a frown on her face.

"Can I help you?" Mario asked Peach.

"Mario, this whole place is already frozen over, and it's only getting worse. I still say that we need to send more people to search for the king," Peach stated, "Let's just send some guards and get this over with before this place completely freezes over!"

Mario shook his head with a sigh.

"No, we'll wait another day and then send some people to look for Luigi and his friends." Mario replied, "We need to at least have some hope they can somehow pull this off."

Peach hummed in response and glanced around with a worried look.

"We just need to hope that this place doesn't freeze over first..." Peach murmured.

Blumiere trudged through the fresh black snow on the ground, taking up the front with Mr.L and Marvin following behind. Mr.L now had on a black jumpsuit, green bandana, grey gloves and boots, and his hat from before while Marvin now had on a black jacket over his white dress shirt, plus grey leggings instead of his dress pants, though he insisted on keeping his bowtie on for some odd reason. It was now almost mid-day, and they were making good time as well. 

They were currently passing through a field of low-hanging willow trees and because of the sudden drop in temperature, the trees all had black crystal-like small icicles dangling from the normally thin branches. Mr.L and Marvin gawked at the reflective ice as they walked, amazed by how pretty it looked. Blumiere couldn't help but catch himself staring too, not having seen anything like it in his life. Mr.L reached out and carefully took one of the strands of black ice into his hands, looking it over in awe.
