After my wolf had had an hour or so to calm down, my father came out.

"What was that all about? You didn't ask to be excused and you disrespected your alpha and beta! I expect an answer right now."

"I'm sorry father, alpha, I didn't mean any disrespect. My wolf just got a little agitated and needed to be let out; it won't happen again."

"You're right, it won't happen again, especially around Evalyn. She's new to all this and has yet to be told of our ways. She'll be attending the mating festival to see if anyone in our pack is her mate. If anyone is, the last thing we need is for her to be afraid of her soon to be alpha. Come in when you're done, it's a school night. Oh, and tomorrow you and Lucus will be showing Evalyn around after school. Don't scare the poor girl off, she's had a hard time recently."

"Yes alpha." Was my reply as he turned and walked back to the pack house.

My mind was still reeling with the fact that Evalyn was my mate, my human mate, when I felt a stab to my chest. Overwhelming sorrow flooded through me, I had no idea where it was coming from.

*Mate, it's our mate. Go to her.* My wolf shouted over and over at me. I quickly shifted and handed over the reigns, letting him get us to her. As we neared her house the pain of loss was starting to dim. Her wall was nothing but glass windows allowing us to see into her room. Stabs of pain shot through me again as I heard her sobs grow louder.

*Get mate. Help mate. Pain.* Played like a broken record in our head.

"We can't go to her, she's not ours, yet"

As my wolf took in that Evalyn wasn't his, he let out a howl full of pain and sorrow that we couldn't help our mate.

When her sobs finally quieted and her breathing steadied out, we laid down to finally rest.

I awoke to the sun just starting to come up. Determining that it was about six thirty, I slowly sat up, stretching as I went. I stopped to see if Evalyn was still asleep. Once I was satisfied that she was fine and still in dream land, I called out to Lucus.

*Hey lazy ass, get up, schools in an hour and a half.*

*But mommy I'm sick, can't I stay home today please?* I chuckled at his intelligent reply.

*Mommy's not here, but if you want Uncle Mark to come up there and get you I'll be more than happy to wake you up.* chuckling darkly at all the pranks that could be unfolding in minutes.

*No need to get your panties in a twist, I'll be at the pack house in a half hour almighty alpha.*

Growling lowly *If I were you I'd show up earlier, you're to run perimeter.*

*Awe come on man, I was only joking.* He spoke trying to weasel his way out for the run.

*Too bad for you I'm not.* I smirked as I started back to the pack house. I had not come home last night, if my dad found out I'd be in deep shit. Coming up to the pack yard I called out to the wolf on duty. It was Jacob, my father's weapon man.

*Jacob, I'm going for a perimeter run then off to school if father wants to know.*

*Yes Mr.Mark.*

After checking in with someone so I have an alibi I started for the run, checking to see if I could find any soft spots in our territory. Every now and then I would catch myself thinking about her and not on the task at hand. Finally after an hour or so I stopped at the lake to rest. This lake has always had a way of calming me down ever since my little sister.

Suddenly feeling eyes on me I raised up looking for any sign of danger. Instead of finding a rogue lunging for the kill, I find the most beautiful pair of blue eyes staring at me. Her eyes scanned over me sending my fur to stand on end. She must have some of her father's genes to be able to see me this far. Her eyes were tore from me as she closed the balcony doors. A low growl slipped out before I could stop it.

*Dude it's just me, calm down.* Ah, so Lucus finally decides to show his face.

*You do know you are almost an hour late and you just ordered your future alpha?*

*I kinda got caught up in Alesha man, give me a break. And I'm not an hour late, you told me to run perimeter, I did that.* Smirking, Lucus replied. Alesha was part of the 'IT' group and a total bitch. I will never be able to understand how he stays with her.

*Well since we're already late for school, how about we head to the pack house, change and get our shit and go to your house to skip for the rest of the day?* Was my amazing plan if I do say so myself. It kept me away from the pack house so no alpha in training work, I got I skip school, and my mate would be trapped in the house with me, I don't think this plan could get any better.

"God, I don't know who takes longer to get ready, a teenage girl or you." Seriously, it took him 40 minutes to take a shower and get ready.

"I did not take that long, five minutes, max. It was you that took forever trying to get into the house without your father knowing."

Roughly half past nine and we just now got to his house.

"Dude, we should have just stayed at your house today, Evalyn's here, normally skipping at my house would be fine but if she tells my mom I'm screwed." Lucus complained. I don't get why he's so afraid of his mom.... never mind, that lady is crazy.

"What about Francis? Won't he tell mommy on you?" I retorted, if Evalyn can tell, can't Francis? Chuckling I shook my head. Just then a soft gasp came from the other side of the door. Lucus and I both paused to listen.

"I know you don't know me, but give me some credit to not be a snitch." Evalyn walked through the door into the room we were in.

"Anyone speak around here?" Again she spoke. For some reason she wouldn't look at me. This made not only my wolf upset but me as well. Are we not good enough? My wolf whimpered at the thought.

Lucus was the first one of us to speak, I was still trying to convince my wolf that she does like us but it will take a little more time for her to realize it since she is human.

"What are you doing?"

"What?" I don't think she expected us to speak.

"I asked what you're doing." Lucus looked at her like she was trying to get away with murder and he would be the one to pin it on her.

"I'm going to go find Farrell, why?" Who the hell is Farrell and why is my mate looking for him?

"Who are you looking for?" Lucus asked looking at her like she was crazy, I think he was as lost as I was.

She then sighed, throwing her hands up.

"I don't know his name, it starts with an F is all I know, he's suppose to be taking me shopping for crap for school. You know who I'm talking about right?" Who the ... does she mean Francis?

"Do you mean Francis?" I questioned her. Trying my hardest to ignore the shudder that went through her body.

"Yeah that's the guy, Fr-dad said he was going to take me shopping then you two are to show me around the town." She spoke, eyes never leaving mine. I quickly flicked my gaze down to her lips. She then licked her lips. It took everything I had in me to not pin her the counter and take that bottom lip between my teeth. To grind my hips into hers till I had her moaning. To slowly peel her clothes off revealing that soft skin underneath. To tie...

"Well since we're already here why don't we take you to the mall so you don't have to be seen walking around with Francis and then show you around and you don't tell my mom deal?" Lucus rambled, breaking me out of my thoughts before something happened.

"Er, that sounds fine" was all a blushing Evalyn could get out. Hm, maybe her thought weren't PG either.

"Only one problem genius," I turned to Lucus "How are we going to get there? On your bike?"
