I'll never forget you (requested)

Hoyeon's hand was shaking as she held onto yours.

The room was silent aside from the sniffles and cries coming from the both of you.

Neither of you could even try to deny how much it hurt as it sank in that your time together has officially come to an end.

It wasn't an easy decision to make but it was one that you agreed on. Because, as much as it hurts, you both needed to chase your dreams and you couldn't bear to hold each other back from that.

Hoyeon sniffled as she looked into your eyes, hers filled with tears. She wanted to hold your other hand too but she needed to reach out and touch you one last time.

She stroked your cheek and you leaned into her touch. She wiped away your tears but the brush of her thumb along your cheek only made more fall.

"I know this is what we need to do but I hope you know that I love you and I'll never forget you."

"You know I feel the same way." You spoke through the lump in your throat before you dropped your forehead onto hers.

"Maybe, in the future, we'll find our way back to each other." She whispered.

She wanted to believe it as much as you did.

She needed to.

It was only a small ray of hope that she was holding onto. But it was something. She had to cling to it. She had to.

"If we don't find our way back to each other, I hope you find all the happiness you deserve in life." You told her.

"Be realistic, y/n. There's no one else in this world for me. No one else I'll be happier with than I am with you." She spoke as her heart continued to ache in her chest.

You bit your lip, more tears continuing to fall down your cheeks as it all sank in and gave you the most unbearable heartache you've ever felt in your life.

Saying goodbye to people you love is never easy but saying to Hoyeon, the woman you love more than you've ever loved anything or anyone else before, hurt you deeply.

"Hey," she whispered. "You're the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. Don't forget that."

You sniffled and dropped her hand to throw your arms around her for the biggest hug you've ever shared with anyone before.

It was inevitable; this day and this desicion.

You want different things right now and although you both want the same things in the future, life is taking you different and separate ways currently, and you didn't want to hold each other back or try and change each other's goals and dreams.

"Hoyeon?"

"Yeah?"

"I know we need to let go but don't let me go for a few more minutes. Please."

"Okay." She sniffled as a tear fell from her eye and into your hair, where she buried her lips.

As you stayed there in her arms, you closed your eyes and watched as everything came back to you. All the adventures you took together, all the love you shared.

It hurts to think that, in time, they'll most likely become memories unless some miracle came to you both and let you find your way back to one another but you knew the chances of that happening weren't so likely when there are so many fish in the sea.

"You'll be happy." You sniffled. "I want that for you. As you follow your dreams; do more acting, more modeling. You'll make everyone so happy. I'll cheer you on."

"I want you to be happy too..." She sniffled, exhaling shakily.

But you didn't tell each other that, deep down, you felt selfish for wishing that neither of you would be happy when happiness doesn't involve each other; your other half.

But, maybe, you're not each other's half.

Maybe this was just one of those loves that just wasn't meant to be.

Maybe time would heal your aching hearts.

Maybe, if you're lucky and fate is on your sides, you'll find your way back to each other.

Or, maybe you wouldn't.

Only time would tell.

But for now, for the little time you have left in the day, you want her to hold you.

It might make goodbye even harder but right now, it's hard to care when you need just a few more minutes in her comforting embrace that you wished you'd never have to leave.
