Natille's POV •

"So what we talking about here?"

"Get my girl a head start to her ballet career and all the crimes you've committed against Regina will go unnoticed by the police department."

Regina glares, standing at the bar with a sour face.

"And what does Regina get out of this?"

"A get out of jail ticket for the numerous crimes she's committed here. You both stay clean and get to go on about your lives," the cop says.

"What if your daughter has no talent," I say dryly.

"She does, and your father's company will cultivate it to something the world needs to see, Nat."

"Don't call me that. Everything I did against Regina was because of the tape," I spit.

"Well, now you'll be doing everything because of my daughter's future," the lady cop smirked at me. Standing up, she looks around at the inside of Midnight. "It's a joint decision. Either you and Regina wholeheartedly agree or..."

"You didn't really cut Liviya a deal. You planted those pills in that apartment."

"I did?" the cop sneered. "And what will you do about it, Natille?"

I struggled to control my anger as the cop left.

I turned on Regina. "This is all your fault!"

"I'm sorry, Nat. I didn't know things would turn into this," she sniffled. She looked like she had been drinking one too many beers. "Regina, go home. Ima leave you alone." I sigh. "Fuck all this shit. I'm going to talk to my dad about getting this woman's little girl in my dad's company. Regina, try to clean up things here at Midnight."

"I'm going to leave," she rasps.

I scoff. "You just heard the woman: what we're doing is a joint deal," I say.

"I mean, I'll be compliant with whatever she says but I gotta leave Texas, or at least Houston. I've fucked up too bad and Midnight is a sinking ship with oblivious passengers. Everybody's gonna be on me once the truth gets out."

"The cop's promising that won't happen," I sigh.

"And you trust her?" she looked at me like I grew several heads. "No, but we really don't have much of a choice," I laugh. "She lied about planting pills, this is stupid Natille." I point at Regina. "No. You're the stupid one." I leave out of Midnight, scowling at the cop's retreating car as I head to my own.

My phone starts ringing and I pick up Kaligh's call as I buckle up. "What's up?" I snarl.

"Damn," she pauses. "I do something wrong?"

"Sorry," I sigh, trying to take deep, controlling breaths. "I'm just in a lot of craziness right now, K. What's up?" I say in a more positive tone.

"I got a shawty's number. My first day in Texas and-

Kaligh cuts her sentence short.

"Wait," I pause. "I thought you said you were in Florida on house arrest."

"I- Uh- Okay, okay. You got me. I was coming down to Texas to surprise you so I lied about the whole house arrest thing, Nat. I been here for a bit, chilling with my twin Tev."

"Oh Tev in town?"

"Yeah, he been in Houston for a real long time. Sorta been keeping to himself, you know? Ever since the incident back in high school," she explains.

"Yeah," I say, pulling out the lot.

"I can't believe you was here the whole time doh? And what you tryna surprise me fo?"

"Because you my friend and I'm silly," Kaligh laughs. "But anyways, I guess that means I can start on the job now," Kaligh says in a satisfied tone.

"Yea, yea. I get to be around yo annoying ass now," I roll my eyes. "So who the shawty you talked to?"

Suddenly Kaligh gets all excited. "She had a baby, and ian gon lie. That kind of turned me off, but then that let me know that she's most likely not a virgin. Then that got me imagining her riding my dick."

"Your strap," I correct.

"I prefer saying dick," I could practically hear Kaligh rolling her eyes. "Why?" I groan. "I don't even wanna have that word on my tongue."

"I don't know, it just feels nice. The same way I like getting head when I got my strap on...on."

I blush. "Ight, back to the topic at hand. Was she fine? Fem? Stem? Stud? Bisexual?"

"I couldn't really tell. She might've been a no label," Kaligh says, a dreamy tone to her voice. "I ain't gonna lie. You believe in love at first sight?"

"Aw hell nahh. We apart of the stud chapter of the city boys. Of the toxic niggas. Of the homewreckers. The heartbreakers. The fuck boys. You telling me you giving up on playing the game? The life of a player," I say, acting like I was dying. "The horror, Kaligh! Don't tell me you're turning into a simp!"

"Chile, ever since Meghan started saying simp niggas been going crazy ova that word," Kaligh said. "And I'm just attracted to old girl. Anyways, I gave her my IG and had her follow me. Her name's Xiomara."

I froze.

"Wait. Describe her to me, Kaligh."

"Light skin baby. Bout one year old. The kid was on her hip, she had groceries in her hands. No, toys. And her shoes was a little dingy."

"Nigga, I said describe her not what she was carrying," I huff. "Sorry, sorry. You know my memory is bad. I'm trying to remember everything piece by piece," Kaligh lies. "Kaligh," I say my friend's name in a warning tone. "Stop stalling."

"Light skin. About 5'5. Look to be slim thick. Cute smile. Probably around 18 or 19. Shit, what if she a minor? I forgot to ask her age," Kaligh groaned.

"Kaligh, I need to go."

"Huh- Oh, ight," she said.

"And hold on," I say. "You up for a threesome?"

"With who?" Kaligh asks, sounding intrigued.

"I'm about to fuck somebody daughter's life up. She about to learn a real good lesson today. I want what I want, and what I want belongs to me."

"Ian even finna hold you," Kaligh says slowly. "No homo or whatever, but that kind of made my pussy tingle, bro."

"Kaligh," I groan.

"So you gon be strapping me in this threesome or..."

"Kaligh!"

"What? It's a genuine question."

"We'll see what happens when it does. Keep ya schedule open," I state, then hang up.

Xiomara, we doing this now? Trying to slide in every stud's DM's? Nahhh baby girl. That's not how Natille plays.
