Natille's POV •

Tevin calls me, telling me that Kaligh's down at the police station. My heart immediately freezes and I look over at Zabelle asleep in her crib. Xiomara had called and told me she was on her way back to the apartment but I need to get down there fast. Kaligh's my nigga, I've known her for the longest.

But I love Zabelle and Xiomara with all my heart, and she's just a little baby. I can't leave her here alone. And Xiomara would have my soul if I brought her down to the station.

"What happened?" I ask Tevin.

"They brought her down, questioning her about the lady in the car and a missing cop working on Liviya's case." I swear my heart stops for a moment.

"Give me an hour max and I'll be down at the station, Tevin. Tell her not to say shit and to wait for a lawyer," I say quickly. I hear background noise from the station then Kaligh's voice. "Nat, you gotta help me man. I didn't do shit." Panic is wide awake in her voice and my heart breaks a bit to hear my friend so afraid. "I got you man. I swear I do," I promise.

Tevin hangs up and I glance over at Zabelle again.

I hear the lock turning at the door and I run towards it. My girlfriend's barely inside our apartment before I grab the car keys out of her hands. "I'll call you on the road and tell you what happened. I just- I gotta go."

I whirl past Xiomara and hop into our car.

I call her as soon as I'm down the street. "Kaligh's being held at the station. They're questioning her about the maid and the missing cop," I tell X quickly.

"Shit," she curses.

"Whatever happens, I'll go down for you baby."

"Natille, no! You're my world!"

"Xiomara. I will leave Midnight over to you. You have a child. I'll take the fault. This is my battle anyways. I'm going to see how much I can help Kaligh out. I'm going to contact that lawyer that helped me with Midnight and see if we can get Kaligh out on bond."

"Oh God. Oh God," Xiomara repeated over and over.

"Baby, don't stress. Daddy has everything under control," I say, trying to keep my voice from shaking. "Remember that I love you, Xiomara."

"I love you too," she croaks.

I hang up and focus on arriving at the station.

Xiomara's POV •

I sit on the couch, shell shocked by Natille's words. If Natille goes down for this, I won't have her anymore. Zabelle and I will be alone, with no one to care for us. I won't get to experience the love me and Nat could have. I won't ever know.

I slowly pick up my phone and call up the prison.

She's the last person that I want to talk to but this is necessary. The prison takes me through some complicated voice machine process until I'm finally waiting for her to pick up.

"Hello?"

"Liviya. It's Xiomara."

"I appreciate what you and Nat did for me," she says happily. "Natille might be going to jail soon," I whisper. "What?" Liviya hisses. "What the fuck happened?"

"Don't...don't worry about it. Just promise me that if she ends up in prison, that you'll find her some protection and watch out for her. She's a suburban nigga, she won't last a millisecond there in prison and most likely she'll end up where you are."
