The change in weather always got to you, thanks to your autoimmune disease. From summer to fall was always the worst. But you pushed through, you had to for your two super soldier boyfriends and the elementary students you taught. There was no time for sick days or worrying them.

Your students knew a little bit of your disease, and were so willing to help when you asked. Like how you couldn't move your left arm, from your shoulder down, one day. So your students uncapped the expo markers, erased the whiteboard, and happily did everything else you needed from them.

You knew your boys would be mad at you for not letting them know how bad it was getting this week or for not taking a sick day. But you couldn't worry them. They were currently prepping for a very important mission, you couldn't distract them from that.

So when you came home, you acted like nothing was wrong. You had a few minutes of rest since your boys weren't home yet, before needing to fix dinner. You were standing in front of the stove when Steve and Bucky came bursting through the front door of your small house. They were laughing, teasing each other. It brought a smile to yourself to hear your boys so happy.

"You home, doll?" Steve called.

"In the kitchen!" You responded.

"Ah, there's our favorite girl," Bucky said as he wrapped his arms around you. You bit back a wince at the touch as he squeezed your waist. "How was your day?" He placed a soft kiss below your ear.

"It was good. How was yours?"

"So much better now that we're home with you," Steve answered, joining in with Bucky. You inhaled sharply, trying not to make your pain noticeable.

"Hmm, I'm glad."

"What are you cooking, Y/N/N?"

"Some chicken tortilla soup."

"It smells wonderful, doll," Bucky complimented.

"Why don't you boys get cleaned up? Dinner's almost ready."

Steve squeezed your arm gently, setting a shooting pain up your arm. You forced out a smile as they each kissed a cheek and went off to get cleaned up. You let out a sigh once they were out of the room. Your body was on fire and even the slightest touch from your boys was causing you pain. You needed to eat so that you could get some medication in you and hope it worked.

Bucky and Steve were quick to clean up and help you get the table ready. The three of you sat around your round kitchen table, talking about how your days went. Before you could get up to clean up dinner, the boys were urging you back down and telling you that they got it. You smiled and sat on the couch without any argument.

You closed your eyes and listened to the two super soldiers fight out washing and putting away the dishes like they were teenagers. You were drifting off to sleep by the time they were wrapped up. Bucky and Steve, unaware of your current pain, eyed each other with a mischievous grin on both their faces. They snuck over to the couch. Bucky went around to stand in front of you as Steve stood a little ways to the side, ready for the plan they had silently come up with.

Together, the silently counted down from five before Bucky swiftly picked you up and tossed you over to Steve. But instead of laughing and squealing in surprise, you shouted out in pain and tears quickly escaped your eyes. In a sudden state of stock, Steve dropped you, causing you to land on the ground with a loud thud. You cried out in pain again, trying and failing to curl in on yourself.
