I opened the door to Seralina, she leaned her head in waving to the others.
"Good job today, you all deserve this," she handed me a bottle of wine, I turned around with a confused expression and placed the bottle of wine on the table.
I mouthed to them, 'maybe it's a test?' I shrugged and turned back around.
"Shall we?" She asked raising her eyebrows at me, I nodded following her out.
"I'll be back, don't wait up for me," I waved back at them.
"Bye Seralina," "Cya," "thanks for the wine," they shouted erratically as I rolled my eyes closing the door.
Seralina silently walked me through the hallways of the barracks, making it down the stairs novices coming from the cafeteria stared at us with confused expressions. Emerging outside Seralina closed the front door behind us, she twisted her hands around and created a rune in the air as the front door glowed a green and then settled.
"After a certain time of the night we check the wards on each building to make sure everything is hidden and locked up tight," she turned on her heel walking towards another large building.
"What did you need to talk to me about?" I asked wrapping my arms around myself trying to defend against the chill night air.
"Not here," she replied shortly.
Leading me into the foyer of the building, I was mesmerised by the walls, they were a stunning emerald green filigree with mahogany floors and wall embellishments.
"Wow this is beautiful," I whispered in astonishment looking around.
She escorted me up the stairs and down the hall, rounding a few corners Seralina came to a stop at a doorway.
Checking down the halls for other signs of life, she opened the door closing it behind me.
We were in an office, her office. Ivory walls and a white marble desk with a white leather chair. She had a few photos on her desk, one I could see was with a young girl laughing. The show runner in this simple office was a huge bookcase built into the far wall.
She meandered over to the bookcase waving an incantation, books started to shuffle and move as it revealed a secret door. She turned smiling at me clasping her hands together, "I'll be back later, after you," she gestured to the door.
I looked at her confused, what game was she playing at?
"I need you to go in so I can close the door," she smiled walking behind me she gave me a light shove towards the door.
"Okay okay!" I swatted her away, putting my hand on the door. Glaring back at her she stepped back raising her hands in defence.
I opened the door and stepped through slamming shut behind me. I jumped at the noise and stared at the door confused.
I observed the room, this must be a test like Marcel had warned me about.
I surveyed the room, walls were painted a dark grey with swiping designs throughout, birch wood floors that had an intricate diagonal design. Warm ambers and yellows enveloped around the walls pulsing and pulling on my anxiety, it was caused by a fireplace on the far end of the room lined with white marble.
Two emerald green armchairs were angled towards the fireplace on a white rug. All of my anxiety melted away, as the smell of cinnamon and warm caramel drifted through the air.
