Chelsea POV

To think it had been nearly a year since we came to the training facility, as I slipped out of the apartment the first thing I noticed out the windows were large tents set up for today's events.

I wonder how many other novices made it through, my heart clenched a little thinking of my team. I have had no contact with them for over a week, it was making me and Aria a little frazzled.

Stepping out into the sun I was surprised by the warmth I'd gone business casual today as per DuVaunts instructions. White button up with a black aline skirt, black stockings, and ankle boots, if anything went wrong today at-least I could fight it. Even I admit I looked pretty badass.

I could sense DuVaunt in his office as I passed it, I didn't really know how I, feel about him?

It did however bring me comfort that we had something in common, and he wasn't completely a dick.

His door cracked behind me, stopping me in my tracks I spun to look at him. Carefully he eyed me from head to toe huffing in acceptance closing the door.

Rolling my eyes, mentally throwing my hands in the air like 'what was that?'

Hopping down the steps I rushed to the old dorm throwing the door open to see a very bruised Jake, with a split eyebrow with a butterfly stitch, and Ren with his arm in a sling.

"You should have seen the other guy," Ren smirked as my eyes ran over him.

My eyes fell back to Jake's, as my heart started to race and panic settled in.

"Where is she?" My voice was hoarse breaking at the end.

Jake's eyes moved to the ground, I froze.

This can't be happen...

"Is that Chelsea?" Loey asked walking out of the bathroom.

I ran over to her flinging my arms around her small frame, "good to see you too," she giggled.

I pulled back looking over her face, "I'm fine mom," I rolled my eyes at her small quips.

"I'm happy you're okay," I smiled blinking away a few tears pulling back I spun to the others, "I'm happy you're all okay."

"As great as this is I'm starving we can exchange horror stories later," Jake rested a hand on his stomach, "also we get to see our new rooms today."

"You can all stay at mine when you want too."

"I mean the projector is incredible," Loey smirked.

"I think you mean I'm incredible," Jake smirked lightly brushing her cheek as he caught up, she scoffed lightly pretending to be offended then just smiled, they were so cute.

The cafeteria was abuzz with energy, novices and acolytes enjoying meals and discussion.

Rolling my shoulders it, I started stacking my plate with breakfast foods, Loey's plate was stacked as high as mine was. As soon as the food touched my tongue it ignited, the flavours from the pancakes, bacon a maple danced around my palette. I guess I haven't eaten in a while.

"So what did everyone get?" I asked between bites.

"I got infiltrate," Loey perked up first, "wasn't very difficult, Seralina thought it was really difficult, anyway I had to steal some substance, I mostly used air vents which I kind of had to do previously, I only encountered one other novice and she went for blood, funnily enough she wasn't watching her surroundings, anyway," she leant her face in her hand, her face darkened at her confession.
