My alarm went off and I jumped out of bed 6am, time to warm up and train. As I stood up and put on my workout clothes a tank top and shorts, I was hit with a wave of anxiety. I looked up into my mirror taking some deep breaths. "We have got this," I told myself multiple times as I tied up my hair and fixed my face for the day. Today I dressed in crimson if I got in I wanted to represent my pack and it wouldn't show much blood. Aria rustled her fur waking up.

I am so ready for today, let's seize the day! She howled happily

Yeah Aria! Carpe Diem!

She never used to show interest in the trial but I guess she had finally come to terms with it. I took one last deep breath as I grabbed a large hoodie to throw over the top of my attire. Let's do this!

As I opened my door I was hit with the intoxicating smell of warm caramel and cinnamon. Maybe someone is baking something? I shook it off that wasn't my priority. I made it out the front of the packhouse to stretch before my run. My anxiety was starting to peak again I decided to meditate for half an hour. I sat up on the porch at the far left end, perching myself cross legged I closed my eyes to shut myself down. After a while I slowly opened my eyes to Julien watching me from the steps, he seemed to nod in approval as he moved back into the packhouse. Was the nod in approval? Had I already failed? Was I only born to be a Luna? I shook my head clearing my thoughts jumping up I put my headphones in and began to jog around the boundary.

The trials we're going to start at midday on the outdoor training field. I noticed Jake helping Nico our Beta set up lines and equipment. Nico was in his 50s he was like the fun uncle I never had with his red hair and moustache he gave off large Ned Flanders vibes. I jogged over to see if they needed any help, on approach I saw Jake tense up.

I was kind of sad this was his reaction, today is a day we had both been waiting for, for years. I tried to give a confident smile, as Nico turned around enveloping me in a hug. "If it isn't my favourite daughter," he laughed Nico only had two sons both pack warriors. He placed me back on the ground "kind of rude when you only have sons anyway," he patted my head like I was a child. I rolled my eyes, "did you need any help setting up?" I asked now hoping he would say no. Jake huffed in frustration, my eyes flicked to his he seemed mad? With a little sadness... it took me a moment to digest his emotions he was worried we were going to get paired up again.

Nico pulled me from my thoughts "we are all good here everything is ready to go," he checked his watch. "I guess it's time for both of you to hit the gym to warm up and get your allocations," he spoke calmly placing a hand on both of out shoulders. He closed his eyes "may the moon goddess guide you," he opened his eyes to look between us.

"Thank you Nico, I'm going to give it everything I have," I shouted with a fist pump in the air. Jake smiled scratching the back of his neck "I mean I'm going to try," I could tell he was holding back but I didn't press it. Jake and I started walking over to the gym, I turned to him his face seemed glum.

"Want to race?" I said playfully, his eyes snapped to mine.

"I can think of so many things I'd prefer to be doing..." I went to reply when he finished his sentence "with you." I could feel my face going flush, I can't have him making me distracted today.

I started to jog to the gym I yelled back at him "you've got to make it in first." I think I could see him smiling as I looked back over my shoulder at him. Making my way into the gym I was met by Amelia who had a towel and three bottles of water she had in her arms.

"Training isn't until this evening after the trial?" I said in a state of confusion.

"I came to help in whatever way I can, I am your cheerleader and assistant today," Amelia smiled wide at me. Obviously won't be taking no as an answer, I nodded and headed over to a mat. I started doing some warmups to get my blood running the music in the gym was really pumping. I found myself doing some jump rope to the tune of the music.
