Present 2021

It was an explosion like no other as Caden was thrown overboard from his yacht. As his body hits the water, his mind screams prayers for the safety of the woman he loves, the woman that he was about to propose to before the yacht exploded from an unknown bomb. As he starts sinking down in the ocean, all the memories with her start flooding in and he smiles as water fills his lungs. Her seductive eyes were the last thing he remembers before he fell into unconsciousness.

He woke up two weeks later in a white painted room and there was a pink screen curtain on his left side and the sound of beeping coming from the monitor above his head.

"You're awake," said a female voice.

He turned his face to the voice.

"Director Seria.. Where.. Why am I in the hospital?," asked Caden, his memories felt like an old used floppy disk.

"Don't you remember anything, Agent Caden?," asked Director Seria, who was sitting crossed leg on a chair next to the bed.

"I.. What happened?," he stuttered, his eyes looking around for someone.

Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his head and memories started flooding in. The yacht, the explosions, and her. The woman that he loved. He jerked up suddenly, his eyes panicking as he looked around again searching for her.

"Void.. Where's Void? Where's my girlfriend?," asked Caden, trying to get up from the bed.

"Calm down, Agent Caden," said Director Seria, her strict face softened a little.

"No.. She was in the yacht with me," Caden yelled, trying to pull the needles and tubes from his hands.

Director Seria nodded to someone who was waiting at the entrance door of the ward which turned out to be a doctor and a nurse, carrying a tray towards him.

"Alright.. Alright.. I'm calming down..," said Caden, holding up his hand to try to stop both of them to make another stop, "Just tell me where she is,".

"I need you to relax and take a deep breath," said Director Seria in a cautious voice, "What I'm about to say might upset you,".

Caden nodded before taking a deep breath.

"We couldn't find her," said Director Seria, "Rescuers have been searching for her in the ocean for a week since the explosions, even in nearby islands.. There's no sign of her. I'm sorry Agent Caden,".

"No.. You didn't look hard enough," anger and frustration started to seep inside his heart, his hands gripping hard on the blanket that covered half of his body.

"We've done everything we can," said the woman, "We retrieve the wreck but she's not there,".

"Then she's still alive," said Caden, glaring at his boss, "Don't you dare claim that she's dead when there's no body,".

Director Seria sighed as she leaned back on her chair, clearly giving up.
