2015, Saitama, Japan
Jane woke up with a start, there was sweat on her forehead and she was looking frantic around her room until she finally realized that she was alone. Stretching herself, she took a deep breath and finally got out of bed, walking towards the bathroom for a hot bath before starting her day.
Today is her final test that will mark her completion of training with her father. She grabbed her katana and arranged her fighting outfit on her body until she noticed something. The house is quiet, too quiet in her ears, too quiet than normal. She slid open the Fusuma (a type of Japanese sliding door) and slowly looked outside her room. No sign of her brother or her father, or the Yakuza's men patrolling around, or Roselia scolding the men when they messed up something.
"Otosan? Jericho? Rosy?," she called outside. (Dad?)
But no one answered and everything was eerily silent. She took out her katana and slowly walked outside her room, looking around, trying to find traces of life. She turned around suddenly when she heard running footsteps behind her but when she turned around, no one was there. She approached the staircase and looked down but again, there was no sign of life and everything was still in silence. But she knows one thing, someone is standing right behind her.
As quick as a lightning, she turned around with her katana to defend herself. At once, there was a sound of clink as two katana met with each other. A man with a katana was waiting at the end, ready for a battle at the top of the staircase. The fight began as Jane slashed her katana, attacking the man and defending herself at the same time.
"Jeremī, anata wa nani o shite iru to omoimasu ka?," Jane swayed her katana towards the man as he ducked down. (What do you think you're doing, Jeremy?)
"Sono namae no hito wa dare mo shirimasenga, anata wa shinudeshou," said the man, with a vicious face. (I don't know anyone by that name, but you are going to die)
"Huh? Nantekotta?," Jane looked at him confused, her katana still meeting his katana. (What the fuck?)
But Jeremi starts to attack again and Jane nearly loses her concentration when he slashed his katana and had chopped a few strands of her hair. She looked at her falling hair in shock and her eyes turned to look at Jeremy furiously.
"Oops..," Jeremy grinned.
"Anata.. Meinu no musuko..," said Jane, her voice shaking a bit in anger. (You.. Son of a bitch..)
She starts attacking again and this time more viciously and Jeremy had to fall back to aJane her katana which was so sharp that he swore that it could cut open a rock. She slashes her katana in a killing mode and Jeremy takes a step back every time she attacks him until he reaches the window at the end of the corridor. Knowing that she will probably end him, he jumps on the open window and disappears.
"Fuketsuna okubyōmono," screamed Jane as she glared down from the window. (Filthy coward)
She looked around to check for more signs of surprise attack and slowly went down the stairs. Everything was still quiet. Her eyes darted everywhere, looking for her brother and her father. Suddenly, a gunshot was heard and a bullet just missed her ears a few inches. She nearly dropped her katana while she whipped out her gun and countershot at the person that tried to kill her from her back. There was a thudding sound as the person who shot her had ducked behind a cabinet in one of the rooms. Jane quickly hid behind the side of the staircase and peeped out from the rail.
"Jeremī, sore ga anatanara, watashi wa anata o owara seru koto o kami ni chikaimasu," Jane called out. (Jeremy, if that's you, I swear to god that I will end you)
