Chapter 11

Present (2021) - Ukraine

As Caden walked out of his hotel to start searching for a clue, his hand went to his chest and touched the ring that was supposed to be given to Jane on the yacht. He had put it in a silver thin chain that he wore around his neck for good luck purposes. He looked around on the streets before strolling on the street to start looking for everything that connected to the dead MP that had been murdered by Il Ragno Rosso.

The location that Collin gave has brought him to a building that was still in construction. A few weeks ago, the MP was standing in front of it, at the same spot where Caden is now. The man gave a few speeches and as he was trying to cut the ribbon for the inauguration at the start of the construction, a small bullet whizz passed and hit him right on his head. He died before his body hit the ground.

Caden took out the picture of the dead MP to look at the position on where he was standing and also to look at the gunshot wound, trying to triangulate where the bullet might have come from. He remembered all the investigation on the Il Ragno Rosso and their modus operandi when shootings were involved. He looked around at the buildings that surrounded the area where the MP was murdered and looked back at the gunshot wound picture to try and find which building the bullet had come from.

He stood for a moment and his eyes suddenly fixed at the abandoned building right in front of the place of murder. But the CSI report came out with nothing and they have scoured all the floors and nothing has been found. Unless he could think like Il Ragno Rosso, he gazed back at the picture, knowing them, they could shoot people from every angle.

"Bingo," he said to himself when he knew he was right and headed towards an office building a few meters to the right.

He is confident on this one but right now, he's not sure about which floor and there will be people working in the building and he knows he's going to attract attention. He took out his phone and searched the office's telephone number in Google before heading to the nearest public phone, making sure that there was no security camera around it, he dialed the number.

"Pryvit, Borysko Private Limited, chym ya mozhu vam dopomohty?," said a female voice answering the call. (Hello, Borysko Private Limited, how may I help you?)

"Hello, this is David speaking," said Caden in a fake British accent, "We would like to inform you that the bomb squad and the police are on their way, and please tell the others not to panic,".

"What do you mean?," the voice started to panic, doing exactly the opposite thing but giving hope for Caden.

"There are tons of C4 planted around the building and also at the elevator, so please tell your colleagues to use the escape staircase and exit the building," said Caden, "And please do it calmly, madam,".

"Yes, yes, I will," said the woman hastily before hanging up.

He walked towards the entrance of the building and waited at a blind spot where no camera could see him and sure enough, two minutes later there were a few screams and people started exiting the building in a rushing manner. Caden sneaked inside the building and managed to find the security room where the guards had abandoned their post. Using a technology gadget that he got from Agent Inky a few months ago, he managed to hack down the security cameras so he could look at the record during the day of the assassination.

He looks at the monitors carefully, at first, everything seems to look ordinary with people just doing their job. But as he looked at the timestamp in the record, a few of the monitors started to glitch. He looked at them and noticed that all the monitors were connected to the cameras in the sixteenth level.
