It was Y/n 25th birthday today, and she really didn't want to do her daily chores and training, but no slack was cut by dear Mother Gothel. She looked out the window at the trees, thinking of the adventure that awaited her if she just ran from this wretched place.

Y/n had long, straight, brown hair with a stripe of white in it. She'd had the stripe of white since she was born, she didn't know why her hair was like this, but she thought it probably had something to do with her father being The Dark One. Her dark brown eyes looking at the deck that she finally finished sweeping, it was the last of her chores and soon her training would begin. It was the same schedule every day since she could remember.

"Ready witchling? It's time." Mother Gothel said sternly and leaded Y/n into the forest to their usual spot. "Now today we are going to try something different, more advanced." Gothel stated, "I need you to expand your powers to as far as you can, but keep them contained at the same time, feel the anger within you, use it. Feel the earth beneath your feet, take a deep breath, and begin!"

Y/n closed her eyes, and remembered all the times Mother Gothel hit her, she remembered all the degrading words, she remembered how her father abandoned her, how her mother never came to find her. She couldn't contain it, she didn't care though. She relished in the feeling that came over her, but then everything went black.

Y/N's eyes opened ever so slowly to reveal the blue sky above. She was on the ground, and everything hurt, she gently rose to her feet, and saw the horrible sight around her. The forest was a disaster, for miles the trees were destroyed, and Mother Gothel was lying face down in the dirt.

Y/n ran over to Mother Gothel and turned her over, she was still breathing, but unconscious. "Oh dear, did I do that? Serves you right you old hag." Y/n spat. Suddenly the thoughts of running away came back, the urge so strong this time. Y/n knew she had to take this chance, it was the only one she had. So she ran.

After a what felt like an hours of running she stopped for a break, leaning against a tree, and took a few deep breathes. She started thinking again, about all that was going wrong, all she wanted was to go to another time and place, somewhere better, and then felt something inside her sizzle. Suddenly she felt a pull like the gravity stopped working, "What the f-" she was going up, off the ground, and into what looked like a portal above her.
