As the night passed, Shigaraki stayed in the warmth of Dabi's arms, not wanting to escape from him.
"Mm.. Shigs.. you up...?" Dabi mumbled, yawning and opening his eyes as he looked at the sleeping Shigaraki. He smiled and stroked Shigaraki's hair softly, awaiting him to wake up. He kissed his head and then sat up on the edge of the bed, tubbing his eyes and yawning once more.
He stood up, walking to his slightly cracked mirror and staring at his hair in which had no longer been spiky, instead it was curly, and the black was starting to fade off at the roots. He tutted softly and ran his fingers through his hair, debating if he was ready to dye it black again or let it fade to its natural color.
"Let it go natural..." Shigaraki muttered softly, stretching behind Dabi. Dabi looked at Shigaraki and smiled, walking to him and hugging him tightly, kissing Shigaraki's lips softly. Shigaraki chuckled and looked for his pants around Dabi's bed. Dabi blew softly and helped Shigaraki find his pants. They failed to find them and sighed in frustration.
"You could use some of mine if you want?" Dabi asked, holding Shigaraki's waist softly.
"I guess I have no other choice." Shigaraki muttered, nodding. Dabi went to his closet and got a pair of pants for Shigaraki, handing them to him and smiling.
Shigaraki looked at the pants and sat them down on the bed softly, smiling as well.
Dabi watched him do so and blinked, confused. Shigaraki walked to Dabi and kissed him softly, wrapping his arms around Dabi's neck."Let's go on a date..." He whispered. Dabi stuttered but agreed to this as Shigaraki deserved to be treated humanely.
Shigaraki smiled and put the pants on, unlocking the door and running to his room.
Dabi rubbed his neck and let out a big sigh, not knowing what he was going to wear for this date.
Shigaraki on the other hand, grabbed his phone and made reservations at 9:00 pm at a fancy restaurant. He rummaged through his closet, looking for a wearable suit, eventually finding one. He laid it out and looked around his room for a hairbrush. Once he found one, he sat it on his bed and looked in his broken mirror. He smiled at it, and he remembered feeling Dabi's warm chest. As he blushed softly, Dabi walked in the room and kissed him.
"I can't wait for this date" Dabi muttered. Shigaraki smiled and hugged Dabi for agreeing to this.
"Thank you for doing this..." Shigaraki whispered.
Dabi smiled and held Shigaraki tightly, blinking at his reflection in the mirror and moving his hair to the side.
The day passed by like a breeze and before they saw it was already 8:30 pm.
Shigaraki fixed his tie in the mirror and brushed his hair, making sure it was perfect for the date. He smiled and admired himself for several minutes. Dabi walked and leaned on Shigaraki's door softly and then chuckled.
"Well.. you are quite a perfectionist..." Dabi said through slight chuckles and shaking his head, his faded hair neatly made into a low ponytail with the help of Toga.
"Oh shut up.. you look like a burnt Shota right now" Shigaraki said, rolling his eyes and putting on his gloves as he walked to the front door.
Dabi followed closely behind and told Shigaraki to get on his back. Shigaraki listened and guided Dabi to the restaurant. Shigaraki signed the paper and then a waiter guided them to their assigned table.
They sat down and talked; happy they were finally able to work out.
The waiter came back shortly after, placing 2 icy water cups by them and a bundle of utensils for their future food. Dabi thanked him and the waiter bowed, going to other tables and taking their orders.
"Thank you again for this.. Dabi.. I didn't think you'd seriously agree to be caught dead with me in public." Shigaraki whispered, sipping at his water and pushing a stray hair behind his ear, smiling sweetly. Dabi inhaled softly and cleared his throat quietly, hesitating to speak. He eventually eyed Shigaraki and choked back saliva.
"Hey.. remember the promise we made?" Dabi whispered. Shigaraki seemed to freeze for a split second, and he looked down.
"Yeah... that promise.." Shigaraki said, choking his tears back, refusing to cry Infront of Dabi. Dabi smiled and laid his hands on Shigaraki's. The waiter came back to take their orders and Shigaraki slipped his hand away quickly. Dabi's smile slowly faded and he pulled his hands back slowly and stuttered softly.
"Uhm.. give us a few minutes sir, thanks." Dabi told the waiter, forcing a smile. The waiter's skin crawled as he saw Dabi's face scars and he simply nodded, quickly walking away. Dabi scoffed softly and then grabbed Shigaraki's hand, yanking him to his feet and practically dragging him outside the restaurant and into a local alley.
"Hey what the fuck is your problem, eh?! I agree to be on this date with you and you've barely said a thing!" Dabi said, visibly frustrated.
Shigaraki's eyes glistened, and he gulped.
Dabi apologized for yelling at him and he started to express his concern as to why Shigaraki has been quiet. Shigaraki just shrugged and sighed as he looked down and kicked some dirt away. Dabi inhaled from his nose and pulled Shigaraki by the waist.
Shigaraki felt Dabi's breath on his cheeks and he closed his eyes. Dabi lifted Shigaraki's chin and kissed him softly, closing his eyes. He kissed Shigaraki's cheek and then pulled Shigaraki's collar away, kissing his neck softly. He stopped himself, opening his eyes and inhaling slowly.
"Shigs.." Dabi whispered. Shigaraki opened his eyes.
"I'm sorry.." He said softly, his eyes tearing up.
"What... are you sorry for??" Shigaraki said, concerned.
Dabi shakily inhaled and ran his fingers through Shigaraki's baby blue hair softly.
"Shigs.."
"I..."
"I love you.." Dabi said, admiring Shigaraki's eyes.
Shigaraki's eyes widened slowly and became shaky. Warm tears started to roll down his cheeks and he fell to his hands and knees, gasping and crying.
Dabi watched him do so and he smiled, tears rolling down his cheeks as well. He kneeled down and rubbed Shigaraki's back slowly. Shigaraki sobbed and covered his mouth, tears flowing onto his hands.
"I love you, Tomura, and I am tired. Tired of pretending I don't. Tired of fucking up. Tired of everything.." Dabi said through tears. Shigaraki's crying slowed and then he lowered his hands, looking at his gloves.
He inhaled and exhaled, taking them off and sitting them on the ground slowly.
Dabi lifted Shigaraki's head and kissed him once more.
"Hey. Promise me one more thing, Shigs?"
"What is it..?"
"Can you promise me that you will move on?"
"I.."
"Will you, Tomura?"
"...yes."
Dabi hugged Shigaraki tightly and wiped his tears away, chuckling softly.
Shigaraki slowly raised his hands to Dabi and his tears grew heavier. He took a big inhale and hesitated.
He then placed both of his hands on Dabi's chest and watched Dabi begin to crumble from his sight slowly.
The cool air blew small bits of the ash away. Dabi smiled and placed one of his remaining hands on Shigaraki's face.
Dabi was nearly gone. Shigaraki's cheeks glistened with tears as he began to tremble. Dabi used his hand and quickly got a note out his coat pocket, throwing it on the ground for Shigaraki.
And just like that, Dabi has faded completely. All left of him was a grey-black pile of ash. Shigaraki lowered his trembling hands and watched the wind blow Dabi's ashes away into the busy city. Shigaraki breathed heavily and couldn't move. He just quietly cried.
He then peeked over at the note that Dabi left for him. He sniffled softly and wiped his tears away, crawling to the note and grabbing it, clutching it softly.
He slowly opened it and read the 4 words neatly written on the note.
He smiled at it slowly and lowered his hands, looking up at the moon.
He then held the note to the moonlight and let a strong gust of wind come by. As soon as it hit, he let the note be free into the city.
The note simply read..
"Stop cryin' and smile :),"
