FUKUOKA, JAPAN
Silver and black flames rose from my body, and suddenly, I felt so empowered, I didn't feel numb, and I didn't feel so frail and weak.
I pushed away from the Angel Sentinel, who had surprised eyes. I was too. Then, I shot flaming orbs at the Kleptomaniac.
"Watch out!" I yelled at the Infinity Watcher, and my scream echoed like a phoenix's cry.
The Infinity Watcher had good reflexes, and dodged the attack without looking back. My flames hit the Kleptomaniac with horse legs for legs, and they fell down. Thankfully, they were only knocked out.
I turned around, as my arms and eyes were on silver and black fire. My arms' flames looked like wings, which absolutely amazed me. When I saw the Angel Sentinel and my sister, my sister's eyes were swollen and red, and full of rage of envy.
Which scared me.
Rage, because her idols just killed our mother, and envy because her younger, frail, hopeless brother turned out to be the chosen one.
I genuinely felt bad. I wish I didn't have these powers, but I wished more that my sister could've had these powers instead of me. She would actually have the motivation and determination to become everyone's hero.
Even if it was corrupting her.
Then I looked towards the Infinity Watcher, who had surprised look, too. His eyes looked like he knew someone else with these same exact flames.
Believe it or not, but I can read a person's true intentions, emotions, and mind through the look of their eyes. It could range from a glimpse of hope in their eyes, to complete darkness.
"H-how? That's impossible!" My sister yelled. "You've had powers this whole time? Why didn't you tell me? Don't pity me!" I didn't know what to say, or how to respond. "Why don't I have powers? We've never had fire powers in our family tree! Much less, why is it a mix of Peterson's fire and Luna Crescent's fire?!" Juno continued on.
What? Peterson's fire and Luna's fire? That's impossible. I couldn't have had their fire. It was probably a fluke. I don't even want to think about how I could be blood related to two people I will forever hate for infinity.
(Luna Crescent is the lover of Peterson. They never married, because they were afraid of getting caught. They both created the first Conjures and first Infinity Watchers- meaning they're the founders of the Infinity Watchers.)
"No, she's right." The Infinity Watcher said and continued, "How on Earth do you have their fire? They died eighteen years ago, and had no report on having a child. He wasn't even married!" My head was spinning.
"Uh, duh, one night stands?" The Angel Sentinel slipped in. Both the Infinity Watcher and Angel Sentinel had deep, but calming voices that actually helped me calm down.
The Infinity Watcher laughed softly at that. "Zachary Winters, and my partner here is my brother, John Winters. We're from America. I take it you're from Japan?" I quickly nodded my head yes, as I shook my whole body to fan out the flames.
I love how we moved the topic, I didn't want to hear more of that. Then I noticed my sister had her camera. And I saw someone had their camera on us earlier, but ran away already. Great. Everybody knows me now.
Then Zach and John both got urgent calls that they needed to go.
"We're terribly sorry for what happened to your mother. We hope we can make it up to you someday. And we hope you can forgive us- with all your heart and honesty," then Zach and John took off on the bright, golden, phoenix.
My sister and I ran towards our burning home, and we both fell to our knees. I eyed my sister, and I can tell she was trying not to take her anger out on me. I tried not to cry.
