As Y/N walked from buying her supplies of food and thought of bringing Jungwon with her, he focused on the sound of zooming cars and idle chatter from people who passed by.
It felt warm and safe in the girl's arms and getting a message from the boys put the small burning ache in his chest to rest.
As the rooftop of the apartment came into view, he tensed up at the sound of a high pitched scream of a little girl. His head shot up and locked eyes on a young girl with a pigtails in a pink dress no older than 8, backing up.
A few people turned to see the ruckus and she hit her back on a nearby car parked on the curb, she was parallel to an open alleyway and was pale with fear at something down it. He frowned a little and tried to see what the matter was.
His eyes widened at the sight of the large feral looking belgian malinois with scars and cut across it's body. Its jaw mashed together and foam leaked from them, it's eyes rapidly focus on the small girl in front of it.
Maybe due to habits, Jungwon knew he had to do something.
He went to jump when Y/N held him tightly to her chest, "Wonnie, you can't fight -"
He bit her hand a little, not enough to bleed but enough for her hold to loosened and for him to get free. The land on the concrete was quite painful as he bolted forward ignoring the burning up on his leg and Y/N's frantic shouts was growing distant.
The massive dog went barreling forward and a few people cried out and he threw his small body weight against it sending the both of them rolling from the impact. When he wobbly got to his paws and looked over the rabid dog, it was now growling and barking at him.
He backed away and turned his head momentarily to see the young girl was being carried up by Y/N who returns her into her mother's arms. He was relieved that somewhat she was safe. But now.. he was not.
The white cat glanced at the moving traffic and back to the dog who now ran straight for him. In a moment of panic and fear, he ran into the busy road.
Jungwon's mind was screaming and his heart was thundering against his small ribcage as he narrowly missed a tire running him over. People in all direction were yelling and screaming in shock and fear.
He ran until he could see the other side of the street and when he heard a loud banging thud and the screech of tires behind him along the whimper of the girl, he instantly turned his head - only to be met with the front end of the car just about to hit his head on.
He shut his eyes ready for the impact when he was suddenly floating off the ground. He opened his eyes and watched the street below him until he was lowered on top of a bicycle. Turning around, he saw the large dog was running back into the alley and people were getting out of their cars.
He looked up to see Y/N standing in front of the car who looked panicked and pale, her whole body was practically shaking. Some was still asking if she's okay when she stumbled across the road and towards him before she fell into her knees.
She scooped him up with shaking hands and he looked up at her with wide eyes as she brought him to her chest and he could hear her heart pounding against his ears.
"Don't scare me like that again", she cried. He swallowed as her voice sounded broken and he let out a soft meow.
"You nearly died.. don't.. don't do that again"
Jungwon wanted to answer that he don't plan on doing it, he just want to save the little girl and only for Y/N to save him in the end from that car.
The walk back to her apartment wasn't long, many had asked if they were alright - at least those who had seen the rabid dog - Y/N only offered a silent nod and held the cat closer to her before refusing to set him down as if he would vanish.
She stepped inside her room and was frozen for a moment. He let out a meow and put a paw in her hand and she blinked back before locking the door.
Jungwon writhed and tried to get himself onto the floor but Y/N didn't let him to do so, so he only settled for nuzzling into her in an attempt to calm her down. Her heart was no longer beating so forcefully but she still looked pale, more than usual.
He had the urge to give her a hug and apologise for the massive care.
His legs still ached a bit but it was the least of his problems when they reached her sofa. Finally when she slumped on it, still looking out of it, Jungwon had the wish to shift and suddenly he was a boy in her lap before he get off from it and sat down beside her.
As he pressed a hand on her cheeks, he forced her eyes to focus on him, "Y/N, it's okay", he murmured as her brows creased.
"Don't do it again... ", she trailed off, hands closing around his forearms, "You scared me to death"
"I'm fine.. See?", Jungwon gestured to himself, "Not a scratch on me, just a little a shaken".
She simply blinked back. He let out a sigh and wrapped his arms around her as she slowly returned it.
"I'm sorry for scaring you, but I had to help the little girl"
Y/N eventually seemed to relent because when Jungwon pulled back, a relieved smile fell on her lips and she nodded. She then went to stand up but stumbled a little. The boy quickly got up to catch her as she let out a nervous chuckle as his hands were on her waist.
"From now on, I guess I will do everything to make it up to you for saving me thrice by now", was all he said before scooping her up as Y/N clung to him from the suddenness of his movements.
But her voice came out a little breathless when she spoke, "Put me down"
Jungwon let out a soft chuckle realising that he doesn't even know what he was doing before he put her down the sofa, but for a time for him, it felt natural, like he had already done it with her before.
The one watching them from the window had her lips curled and her furry face seemed to light up at the thought of this two getting closer.
She would feel bad about not letting them know, but then again so should fate, although it's all coming together especially when she had a god on her side.
