They say you're most alive when you're in love. Although Jake had died many years prior, being with Charlie made him feel the happiest he had been in a long time. That coupled with the fact that the Happy Hotel had started to gain traction really made both Jake and Charlie feel alive.

Word spread very quickly about what had happened at the Porn Studios, so much so that citizens of Hell went to the Happy Hotel to see what had drawn Angel Dust away from his job. While most of these demons didn't stick around long, some of them grew to like the idea of redemption and stuck around.

Naturally, this meant it was only a matter of time until some of these sinners achieved their redemption. It took a long few months, but eventually it happened. The Happy Hotel redeemed its first demon.

To mark the event, the staff and patrons threw a party in the lobby. But as Charlie was enjoying herself, she noticed someone was missing. Jake was nowhere to be seen. Where was Jake? Well...

He was in his room. In one hand was the necklace that matched the one that he gave Charlie, in the other was a small black box with a velvet covering. Sat in his lap was a ticket. A ticket into Heaven.

Jake had done it. He'd been redeemed. Even after all the blood he had spilt in his afterlife, Jake had been accepted into Heaven. Per the ticket's instructions, he was to be at the gates of Hell early the next morning so an angel could escort him.

When Jake hears the knock on his door, he quickly tucks the box into his pocket, the necklace and ticket tossed onto the bed. The door is opened to reveal Charlie on the other side, a look of concern on her features.

"Jakey, are you okay? You should be downstairs enjoying the party," she says while stepping into the room. Jake runs a hand through his hair.

"I-It's nothing, Char. I'm just not feeling that well. You go back downstairs and enjoy yourself though," he says. Charlie however ignores that suggestion and instead enters the room and embraces her boyfriend in a hug.

"You don't have to lie to me, you know," she says, smiling slightly when Jake starts to hug her back. "What's really bothering you?"

With a sigh, Jake pulls away from the hug and moves to the bed, grabbing the ticket and the necklace. "I was in my room earlier and I found this on my bed."

He hands the ticket to Charlie who gasps upon seeing it. "Jake, this is wonderful!"

Jake cuts her off. "I know. I should be excited that I've been redeemed but... It just doesn't feel right. I mean, after everything I can't just-"

Charlie cuts him off with a kiss. A kiss which Jake quickly melts into, his hands going to Charlie's waist to pull her closer.

Charlie breaks the kiss to look in her lover's eyes with a sad smile. "As much as I don't want you to leave, you have to take this opportunity. Last year was really tough but I should be fine knowing you're safe and sound in Heaven." Charlie pulls away from the embrace and heads to the door, pausing to look back at Jake. "You should come downstairs. Enjoy your last night in Hell." With that, Charlie leaves the room.

A few minutes pass with Jake unmoving. Deciding to go take part in this party, Jake leaves his room only to run into someone. More specifically he runs into Angel Dust.

Angel's toothy grin immediately falls upon seeing Jake. "Woah. You look like shit."

"I'm not in the mood, Angel," Jake growls, attempting to walk past the spider demon.

As he walks past the spider demon, Jake finds himself stopped. He turns back to see Angel has grabbed him using one of his many arms.

"Hey, hey, hey, slow down there, Jake, I was just comin' to check up on ya," Angel says, a serious look actually adorning his features. "Besides, Charlie told me what's goin' on and I figured I owe you one since you took care of the issue with Valentino." Jake's glare softens as he slides against the wall to a seated position, Angel following suit. He pulls the small box out of his pocket, prompting Angel to gasp. "Is that...?"

"Yeah," Jake replies. "I've been planning this for a while. I mean, what could make today better, right? First redemption and a proposal."

"But if you go to Heaven the whole plan fails," Angel says, taking a puff from a cigarette. Jake just nods. The pair fall into silence before Angel suddenly speaks back up. "Jake, how much do you love this girl?"

Jake looks ahead with a blank stare. "More than anything in the world."

Angel smirks and grabs Jake's shoulder. "Then you should know what you have to do."

It takes him a moment, but a smile slowly creeps across Jake's face as he meets Angel's gaze. "You're right," Jake says, getting to his feet. He starts to walk to the stairs before turning back to Angel. "Thanks, Angel. You're alright."

Jake had made his decision.
