Jake got up pretty early the next morning. He never needed much sleep to function, especially after becoming The Reaper. In all truth, Jake despised the way he lived, but thought it was the only way he could live without becoming a target. He sighs, putting on his outfit, which hasn't changed since he became The Reaper, which consists of black converse, black jeans, a dark blue t-shirt, a black trenchcoat, black fingerless gloves, and his mask.

After getting dressed, Jake opens the door to his room, where he finds Vaggie, hand raised about to knock on the door. "Good morning, Miss Vaggie," Jake says calmly. "How may I help you?"

Vaggie lowers her hand, letting herself into Jake's room. Jake closes the door behind him. "Please, come in," he says sarcastically before turning back to Vaggie. "What can I-"

"You can drop the act, amigo," Vaggie interrupts, for once not talking to Jake with an insult. Her gaze and posture are visibly more relaxed than they were the previous day, which worried Jake.

"I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're referring to," Jake says, the voice changer hiding the nervousness in his voice.

"Cut the bullshit," she says, moving towards Jake. "I know who you are." Her tone then changes to sadness. "Why didn't you come back sooner?" At this point, Jake can't contain himself any longer. He pulls the mask off his face before pulling Vaggie into a hug. She stiffins at first, but eventually relaxes into the hug.

"I'm so sorry," Jake mutters, trying to hold back his tears. "I wanted to come back, I swear I did!"

Vaggie pulls away from the hug. "You have no idea how much we missed you," she says before taking a breath. "How much Charlie missed you."

Jake's eyes go wide. "She... She missed me?"

Vaggie simply smirks. "You're kidding, right? You are the densest person I've ever met, Jake," she chuckles, Jake just getting a look of confusion. When Vaggie sees his look of confusion she sighs. "Look, after your 'death,' Charlie was a wreck. She just about gave up on the hotel." A single tear rolls down Jake's face. "Eventually, she realized that you wouldn't want her to quit. So she finished the hotel." Jake smiles softly.

"That's my Charlie," he whispers, just loud enough for Vaggie to hear him.

"You should've told her how you felt, amigo," Vaggie says, causing Jake's face to start turning red. "It was pretty clear to me that you loved her."

Jake looks down. "I still do." Jake looks at Vaggie. "I can't tell her that I'm alive yet. I just," Jake sinks down onto his bed. "I'm scared that she'll be mad at me."

Vaggie sits next to Jake, putting a hand on his shoulder. "She could never be mad at you, Jakey." Jake let's out a shaky breath before nodding. He stands, grabbing his mask from the floor.

"You should leave," he says, walking to the door. "Leave quickly before someone sees you." Vaggie nods and moves to the door.

Jake opens the door for her, only to see Angel Dust, crouched by the door. He appears to have been listening in on the conversation. He bolts upright, Vaggie and Jake looking at him, anger in their eyes.

Angel raises a hand. "Uhhhhh... Hi?"
