After eating food Kai took a quick shower and changed into shorts and a plain black oversized hoodie. When she was done she gave Flame a bath and dressed him in his pajamas before tucking him back into bed.
"Can you stay here tonight, the dark scares me"he said and she chuckled and layed next to him on the bed.
She wrapped her arm around him like a mother and brought him closer to her,"why were you crying"he asked in the silent dark room, and kai merely just smiled while looking down at Flames curious fiery eyes.
"Its nothing i want you to worry about. Now tell me why is such a big brave boy scared of the dark"she asked him quickly changing the topic.
Flame looked away shy but then back at her, his cheeks slightly pink.
"Because its everywhere and i dont know whats in it. There could be a monster hiding in the dark waiting for me"he said with his eyes wide looking at the semi dark room. The only light that came into the room was from the moonlight.
Kionne stood on the other side of the door with his ears presses up against it, smiling at the conversation he was listening to.
Kai sat up and took off a thin golden necklace from around her neck that had the word Rame engraved on a gold rectangular plaque, with little spikes around the chain.
Flame sat up cross legged infront of her, curious as to what she was doing.She put the chain around his neck and adjusted it to a size that would fit.
"Always where this, it will be a goodluck charm and a reminder to never be afraid of the dark. My mother gave this to me when i was your age or younger. I was also terrified of the dark, still kinda am sometimes but this reminded me that you can be alot more scarier than those monsters in the dark. You can even be their friend. But if you keep on giving them fear to eat on, they will grow bigger and one day they'll come for you" she tells him as they layed back down.
Something about what she told him made her feel guilty. She was herself letting her monsters grow from feeding them her fear.
Flame looked at the necklace gratefully and curiously."what is this word"he asked looking up at her from withing her arms.
"It says Rame, which means something which is both chaotic and joyful at the same time. Like your name for example what does Flame represent"she asked him and he smiled, "me"he said and made Kai chuckle. She pinched his cheeks, "yes, but it also represents fire, which can cause chaos and damage but also is something that can be enjoyed"she told him and his mouth formed an O in understanding.
"But if im wearing your necklace that makes you no longer afraid of the dark, whats gonna protect you from feeding the monsters"he asked feeling a little guilty for accepting. She smiled at him and snuggled close, "For starters i have you tonight, and behind the door is my life size monster repellant which i call Oogy" she whispers and Kionne chuckled from the other side of the door.
He opened the door and stood there with his arms crossed smirking at them."is there space for one more"he asked and Flame pat the empty space next to him.
He smiled and closed the door behind him, before climbing into bed beside Flame and Kai.
"Goodnight my little Flame"Kai said kissing his forehead when he closed his eyes and wrapped her arms protectively over him.
She looked over his head at Kionne who was aldready looking at her smiling.
What? you look crazy you realize that right.
She said to him through their mind link and he softly scoffed.
Whatever. You should love your monster repellent.
He said to her and she rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out childishly at him, he mimicked her reaction, which made them both quietly laugh.
I do love my monster repellant, but his such an idiot.
She said and his mouth opened but he quickly closed it.
Im your idiot Selcouth,now and forever.
He said to her and she could feel the red on her cheeks become visible.
"I love you Selcouth"he whispered softly and outstretched his arm over the little body between them and layed it down to rest on her waist.
He held his hand over the both them protectively and slowly leaned over to peck her on the lips before returning to his position.
Flame slept peacefully between the two of them,with Kai's arm around him protectively and Kionne's arm around the both of them protectively.
It was as if they were actually a family.
All her worries went away and all she could think about was this moment right now, as she stared into Kionne's eyes as he stared back at hers.

He said to her before they both fell asleep in each others arms with little Flame between them.
