I am about to start writing a chatfic, BSD obviously, in a HS AU and I want it to have good representation of mental illnesses and other things, such as being lgbtq.

So basically, I assigned (idk if that's the right wording sry) different characters different mental and/or physical illnesses, and different lgbtq identities, and I want to properly portray them in my writing.

I did do initial research, but I wanted to run it by y'all first before doing anything to make sure my research was alright.

Here is the basic outline:

•Other co-morbid diagnoses have to be included (anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc)

•Usually DID is not too noticeable to other characters if the diagnosis of DID is unknown to said other characters.

•𝘼𝙢𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙖: the failure to recall significant things, that is so severe that it cannot be passed on as "every day forgetfulness."

•Suicidal tendencies

•Sleep disorders (insomnia, night Terrors, sleep walking, etc)

•Anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias (flashbacks, reactions to stimuli, triggers)

•Psychotic-like symptoms (including auditory and visual hallucinations)

••••Each alter is their own person, each usually with their own names, or lack thereof, age, or lack thereof, gender, etc. They all have different roles in a system, which is the collective bunch of alters. Alters can also exist as an animal.
