Connor's POV
It was Saturday afternoon and I had no plans for tonight. However, I heard from a friend that there was a county fair being held in town this weekend. That'd be the perfect opportunity for me to take out Jude and spend some time with him. Without hesitation, I pulled out my phone and started texting.

Connor: Hey, are you busy tonight?
Jude: No, not at all why?
Connor: I was thinking that maybe we could go to the fair and hang out, just the two of us :)
Jude: Sounds fun, I'll just have to ask Lena first.
Connor: Okay

Minutes later, my phone buzzed and I read his response.

Jude: She says I can go :)
Connor: Awesome, see you at six.

I set my phone down on the nightstand and walked towards my closet. A number of flannels that I owned were hanging on the rack. I guess you could call it my aesthetic. Choosing wisely, I went for a plaid blue-green flannel with a pair of dark jeans.

As hours flew by, my mind completely forgot about the the time. I reached for my phone and read the screen. 5:40 p.m. Jude was expecting me to be at his place by six, so I rushed out of the house immediately.

Jude's POV
The doorbell rang while I was fixing my hair. Feeling satisfied, I headed out of the bathroom and ran downstairs. Stef opened the door for me as I stood near the entrance. Once my eyes hit Connor, I couldn't seem to think clearly.

He looked so good in that flannel, focus Jude! I slipped back into reality and spoke.

"Hey Connor." I said, smiling.

"Hey Jude, you look amazing."

I felt a pink shade spread across my cheeks after hearing his response. He took my hands in his and held them lightly. We both stared at each other, until realizing that Stef was still standing near us.

"Alright, be back soon okay? Call me if you need anything love." she told me before kissing me on the forehead.

"Okay." I answered.

I turned my head back to Connor and gave him an all-clear.

"Shall we get going?" he asked.

"Yeah, let's get out of here." I responded with a laugh.

Connor's POV
The amount of rides and games here was unbelievable. Left and right, you'd see people shooting hoops, bumping cars, tossing bean bags, and even bobbing for apples! It seemed like the list was endless. I was having such a fun time, especially with Jude.

There wasn't a moment where I regret spending time with him. I could tell he was having a blast too. Tonight could last forever.

We walked hand in hand, passing by faces we never recognized. It was like our own little world. Our secret getaway. I gripped his hand tighter and focused my eyes on him before speaking.

"We should ride the ferris wheel, what do you think?"

"Yeah sure, let's do it."

"Great c'mon." I told him.

We made it just in time before all the seats were taken. Jude jumped in first with me behind him. There was a sudden jerk when the wheel started to move, but it was fine afterwards.

As we moved higher up, I caught Jude's hands underneath the seats. His eyes were shut and he looked quite scared. Feeling worried, I moved my body closer to him, resting one arm over his shoulder. I lifted his chin with my other hand so that he could see me.

"You okay?"

"Heights aren't really my thing." he told me nervously.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here."

He moves forward and hugs me, his head sinking in my shoulder. I've got you. I rest my chin on his head and close my eyes. The ride is at a full stop, so I'm guessing we're at its highest peak.

I pull back and tap his hand repeatedly. He looks confused until I motion him to turn around.

"Look at the view!" I say.

"Woah, it's so beautiful up here."

"Trust me, this isn't the only view I'm enjoying right now." I tell him with a warm smile.

His head turns back to me and a wide grin appears on his face. I take in every feature of Jude. He's so beautiful. I lean forward and our lips touch, every sensation in my body exploding. His lips feel soft against mine. I cup my hands on his cheeks as he runs his hands through my hair.

We stop, staring into each other's eyes. He looks at me and blushes. I can't help it either. My cheeks get red and I smile at him.

"So, are you still afraid of heights?"

"Nope, not anymore." he answers.
