I was stressed, so stressed. I was restless and curious...and angry…ugh! What the Fcuk.
Why do I care if she is getting married? She can go and marry any baboon she wants, her wish… at least she could have informed me… No …she just went ahead and got engaged…great. Hell with it. It's her life, not my concern if she chooses some lamb for herself. She didn't even introduce him to me before getting engaged. We are friends from childhood, best friends…
Why would she? When you forget her conveniently. My subconscious mind poked.
Still, she could have told me. What if that lamb is not a good person? What if he is a rapist or….a…a… murderer or is into drugs and mafia… Oh! god, I need to do background check on him?
Why was bro so cool about it!Come on, Richie, sleep. I scolded myself, but sleep was far from me. 'Richie' that made me smile. My name it is a gift from her. Cute little Lia had given me that name. I still remember that day.
In that forbidden place, she was my only relief to pass one more day. No doubt, she used to boss me around…but I liked her bossing. It had an affinity in it, as if I was hers. What went wrong Lia why we drifted apart?
I know the answer for that too. She never liked Erna, my first girlfriend in high schoolin fact, she never liked any girl I ever dated, but she detested Erna. I too never liked any guy she dated, even though there were hardly any. She was difficult to impress. How the hell did that lamb impress her? She deserves someone better.
Only one person can help me cool down, Erna. We were together for quite a long time, but neither of us were faithful to each other. Lia always tried to convince me that Erna was sleeping around, and I knew it very well. I just had her for the tag of 'taken', but today we are very good friends and confide in each other. We eventually realized that we can never be more than friends.
As I opened the door of her apartment with the keys I always had, weird noises reached my ears. My eyes fell on the trail of clothes leading to the couple making out on a couch. Erna, this girl… I turned around and cleared my throat.
"Ahem…" I hope they stop.
The noises stopped, making me sigh in relief.
"Richard, what the hell are you doing here?" Came Erna's scoffy voice."Can we talk?" I asked simply.
I heard the rustling of clothes and groans. I turned around to face them, thanking god that they were covered…partly.
"können wir das morgen fortsetzen? etwas Dringendes kam auf." Erna said to the guy. He had a displeased frown on his face.
(Can we continue this tomorrow. Something urgent came up.)"Wer ist er?" He asked, pointing a finger at me. He was definitely not happy with the interruption
(Who is he?)"nichts von Ihrer Sorge, verlassen Sie" Erna said sternly. I don't know what they were talking, but that guy surly annoyed her.
(Non of your concern, leave,)"Fahr zur Hölle" he spat angrily and stormed out of the house banging the front door. Great.
(Go to hell)"Who was he?" I inquired. He didn't seem to be Erna's type. I slumped on the couch, definitely not on the one they were making out.
"Not important. You better have something important to interpret me." She stood in front of me with her arms folded in front.
"She got engaged." I blurted out while she poured wine in two glasses.
"Who Giulia Anderson?" She smirked, passing me the glass of wine.
"I need something stronger" I said as matter of fact.
"Help yourself." She gestured towards the mini bar in the corner
"So, tell me, why are you so bothered?" She asked calming. Erna is a beautiful girl. She has a a splendid figure, waist length blonde hair, smooth pale skin, sharp features and perfect shade of blue eyes. She grabs attention wherever she goes, but what connects me to her is her ability to give true and blunt advice without judging you.
"She didn't tell me or even introduced me once to him. She came directly with him to bro and introduced us as her fiance. How can she just wake up and get engaged. What if he is not a good guy." I ranted. She didn't respond but had a small knowing smile on her lips
"What?" I groaned.
"Why don't you accept it?" She shrugged.
"Accept what?" I was confused. I never expected this response.
"That she doesn't love you anymore and has moved on with someone else" I rolled my eyes at that. I know she had feelings for me, but Love is too strong a word for it, and if…if she loved me, why didn't she ever mention it?
"She never loved me" I informed her.
"You are either blind to not have noticed or too dumb, not to acknowledge it." She remarked. What does that mean?
"You need to accept one more thing." She added, looking deep into my eyes as if searching something.
"What now?" I was irritated with her declarations.
"That you love her."
