When I left for Amy's place, I didn't think of any possible encounter with you. It was a peaceful Sunday evening and she had asked me to help her prepare the food.

I was reluctant at first but went out anyway. I needed to stop sulking over our past and accept our common friends. I didn't intend for us to meet, but since we did, I didn't regret it either.

I was sitting alone on the porch with a glass of wine when you stepped out of the car. Taken aback and frankly surprised, I decided to leave.

Just when I got up, you rushed towards the passenger seat. I counted till three because my heart clenched at the sight of her, the girl you left me for. You looked happy. You were glowing. Was it me all along? I could feel the storm brewing up inside me, but I needed to remain c a l m.

And then you saw me, your smile wavered for a moment, but it was back on. You were game. I didn't want you to have that choice again.

"Hey" - I said with a wide smile.
