Chapter 23 {Ending}

-Two Bits POV-

I brought Aj, Darry, and Steve along with me to find the gang and talk. We found Dally drinking vodka and milk at Buck's. Weird kid. When we went over to him I couldn't help but take a swig of it.

We found Pony and Johnny at the lot. I told them about the voice in my head. They knew even before I told them. They heard it too. We created a pretty darn good plan. We were gonna relive the best memories we made with Elle.

We got back to the house and found Elle eating chocolate cake with the record player blasted on high. Elvis was playing. She still has her mentality. Elvis is tuff.

-Johnny's POV-

I was first to help Elle remember. I went up to her and asked, "Do you wanna come with me? I'll help you remember."

She reluctantly nodded and we headed for the door. "So I'm Johnny, Johnny Cade... Don't freak out or anything. But, we're dating. Before you forgot everything we were in a relationship. A pretty good one, too."

She looked up at me with confused eyes and I gave her a 'yup' look. She nodded and grabbed my hand. I was shocked, it took me by surprise. "I'm scared, I can't remember." She told me.

"I know... We'll get you to remember, trust me." I smiled down at her, she smiled back.

I took her to the park. It's where we talked about getting married. "So you're name is Elle Greene, 16 years old, and the love of my life," I said as we sat on our swings, "Here, we used to talk about a lot of things. About our day, work, everything. One day we talked about getting married. In a year."

Her head shot up in shock and somewhat fear. I nodded in disappointment. I understood she forgot but it still broke my heart. It wasn't me that shared the most touching moment with her.

-Dally's POV-

The next day was my turn. I took her to town. "So Elle, I'm Dallas. When I first met you, Johnny, me, and Soda had a contest for whoever would get you to be their girlfriend. Soda was Pony's and Darry's brother. But he died a while ago. Anyways, Johnny got you and I pretty much think of you as my own kid sister. We were really close."

We went to the building in front of this convenience store and climbed up to the roof. There were still water balloons were we always stored them. "One of my favourite things I liked to do with you was this."

I handed her a water balloon and grabbed one for myself. We walked to the ledge and when a person came by we threw it at them. She laughed. I missed her laugh. "Um Elle? Do you remember?"

She frowned and shook her head. It wasn't me that shared her most memorable moment.

-Two Bit's POV-

Third times a charm. I'm next in line. I brought her to the Dingo. "Elle. This is where we met. You ran away from home and told off some bad guys here. I told you that you could live with me and I took you in as my new sister."

We sat at a table and ordered food. We talked about more and she still didn't remember. I had the best idea ever. I took her back home and into our room. She sat on the bed. I sat next to her.

"One day you were having a bad dream. I held you like this when you cried into my shoulder. In this moment I realized how much I've grown close to you Elle. And I can't lose you. You asked me 'Two Bit? How long will you love me?' and I said, 'Babydoll, our love is timeless.'"

She gasped in realization, "Two Bit?"
