IT WAS AROUND MIDNIGHT when Phoebe was woken up to the sound of Dick's phone ringing. She slowly groaned and opened her eyes, looking at Dick as he was opening his briefcase
"Who the fuck is calling you? It's too late for this shit," Phoebe groaned, face-planting herself into her pillow.
Noticing he had awoken Phoebe, Dick was embarrassed. "Sorry," He whispered, before unlocking his briefcase and picking up his phone. Hesitantly, he answered. "Hey, it's me." Phoebe sat up, curious to who Dick was talking to. Before she could interrupt, Dick spoke again. "I'll be there," He answered, before hanging up.
"Who was that?" Phoebe asked, getting curious.
Dick shook his head, basically telling her not to worry about it. "No one," He stated, before continuing. "I have to go and do something tomorrow morning but I'll be back later that afternoon."
Phoebe knew Dick was trying to keep something from her. But, she respected his boundaries. "Okay," She sighed, laying back down on the pull-out couch. "At least get some more sleep."
Dick sighed, before flopping back onto the couch. "Fine." Dick snuggled a little closer than usual, suddenly finding comfort in the girl. He didn't know exactly what it was, but it was there.

Phoebe, Dawn and Rachel went out food shopping that morning, coming back around one. They laughed, talked about hot actors and actresses, basically had a good time. Walking into the apartment, Dawn was suggesting Rachel watch a show in the guest room. "Why don't you go watch it right now?"
"Okay," Rachel chuckled, heading into the guest room.
"And take your shoes off!" Dawn reminded.
Phoebe noticed Dick was back from doing whatever he did and smiled. "Hey Richard," Phoebe placed the groceries on the small coffee table, giving Dick a small smile.
