Hanagaki Hanabi

This is definitely not a normal day. Wearing a formal kimono and putting concealer to my bruised face. I promise to go this New Year in the Sohma state.

I'm nervous.

"Hana-san let's go." I nod at Akihiko then hop into his bike. I felt guilty still not telling my brother that we're part of the Sohma clan. I kept forgetting to tell him.

Gomen ne Take-nii.

"Ah, welcome Hanabi-sama." I look at Shigure to see him all alone. I guess this is the first New Year of Tohru. I smile on how sweet Yuki and Kyo is.

"Let's enter." I'm nervous. I accepted Akihiko's hand then lead me to the where the banquet will be held.

Is it right to be inside?

The last time I watched Fruits Basket it was supposedly to be the part of Zodiac Signs only. So...

Why am I invited here?

"Akihiko and Hanabi?" I look around. It's my first time seeing Akito in person.

"A-ah, yes." Well, fuck my social skills.

"Woah! I finally got to meet you!" Akito hug me tight. Damn...

"A-Akito... you're suffocating Hana-san." Akihiko nervously said but Akito ignore him them drag me. Making me seat besides him, I smile awkwardly at them.

"Let's start the feast." Huh? The foods was serve to each seat. I start with the sushi. It seems fancy.

"Do you like it Hanabi?" I smile at Akito. Why is Akito clingy on me?

"You don't like it?" Akito said upset. Fuck.

"N-no, I like it actually." Yeah... I wanna go home.

"That's good!" Why is Akito clingy on me? I look at the others and they're staring at me as if I was someone incredible.

Huh?

I tilt my head in confusion. Then all of them look away from me. I look at Akihiko enjoying his conversation with Ayame.

The food is pretty good to be honest.

"How's school life Hanabi?" I look at my side to see black hair and purple eyes.

I was surprise on how he just appear in my back.

"It was good uh—" I know him but I need to avoid suspicion.

"Oh, pardon my rudeness. I'm Hatori Sohma." I smile at him.

"It was a pleasure meeting you Hatori-san. Though you already know me I'm gonna introduce myself, I'm Hanagaki Hanabi." He nod at me.

It was a comfortable silence between us.

"D-do you know my mom?" I was the one who broke the silence. He look at me.

"Yeah, she was my first love." My eyes widen. Huh? First love? But I thought it was Kana?

"Really?" I heard him hum as a reaponse.

"Even though she's years older than me... she treated me like a normal human. She was the one who gave light to everyone." Kaa-san was really nice.

"Agree with that." I miss her already. The warmth in her embrace and how she shower me and Take-nii with her love.

"You look like her." I smile. I get that everytime.

"Yeah, I get that everytime." I wish kaa-san is here.
