As Matt slowly opened the door, I prepared myself with the bat, ready to strike anyone who came near. To my surprise, the room revealed nothing, it was completely devoid of life. The only thing left in the room was a desk filled with papers and a small lamp.

I slowly crept into the room, Sam and Matt following behind. As I neared the desk, I could faintly hear the voice again, the second one. This time, the voice sounded like it was pleading with me. I tried to drown out the noise, but it increased and increased, louder and louder. The voice became distinct, telling me to turn back...leave...stop. I didn't listen however, and persisted onward.

As I reached the desk, I was able to see the writing on the documents. One was a letter to Wesley, seemingly from some department in Syntec. Another was a trial case for Life's Blood. As we all read through these documents, I came to the last one in the stack. It read, in large red messy font, "Foolishly takes the bait again. This time, you won't escape."

Before I could warn the others, we immediately heard a hissing sound. Oh no it's another serum bomb. "We have to get out of here NOW," I yelled, quickly rushing for the door. Right before I got to the door, it shut, locking us inside. Not again! I slammed my body, full force, into the door in an attempt to break the lock, but to no avail. I quickly looked back at Matt and Sam, unsure of what to do. There were no other doors, windows, or vents we could escape through.

I guess this is it. IF ONLY I LISTENED TO THE VOICE WE WOULD ALL BE OKAY! We all shared looks of panic, nobody knew what to do.

"Okay since we can't get out of here, let's find the spot where we could be the least susceptible," Matt said, trying to calm everybody down for the time being. We all looked around wildly, still panicking, trying to find the source of the gas. I glanced up at one of the corners of the room to find the vials of the concoction along with a diffuser.

I quickly pointed it out and we ran to the other corner, getting as far away from it as possible. We took short, quick breaths in order to decrease our chance of breathing in anything. Why did we leave the gas masks in the car? This was it. We couldn't escape and the toxic fumes of the serum would eventually fill the entire room, infecting us with its evil.

By now, we were sitting huddled in the corner. I glanced back at Sam, who looked terrified. I slung my arm around her shoulders, making a sort of side hug, I was never really good at comforting others. She glanced back at me, thankful, a makeshift smile painted on her face.

I looked back to Matt, who seemed most concerned about us. He repeated what I did and slung his arm, this time around my shoulders, forming a makeshift group hug. We all glanced at each other, small smiles decorating everyone's faces along with tears. As I glanced back at Matt one more time, my vision began to blur, and the edges became fuzzy, and before I could say anything, everything went completely black.
