Chapter 5
Her skin was a flawless milk-brown covered by armor of silver. Underneath she wore a silky white dress covered by light chain-mail and a silver cloaked-hood. Her boots and gloves were the only plated armor. Even her sleeves were made of chain-mail. I expected chain-mail to bit more….kinky.
Besides he fair clothing and skin, her hair was a deep brown that compliments her skin. Her eyes were as golden as a werewolf’s should be; making her looks wicked, in a good way. What I mean by in a good way is that she was wickedly pure. Almost as if she was the queen, or better yet an angel. Thoughts of her as a captain of an army crossed my mind. Even though I had just met her I felt I could put my life in her hands.
“My name is Kima and I am the leader of this world. You must be the lovely LORD Jaclaire. We have been anxiously awaiting your arrival.” She said while kneeling before me.
My mind was being tampered with. I could not be seeing any of this. No of the things I was seeing were at all modern. This woman was beyond royal and the apparel was far from “in”. It was like I stepped into a different era. And if she was the leader of this world, why was she kneeling before me? And why did she call me LORD Jaclaire? I stared dumbstruck, not sure what to say. My mind had still been stuck mostly on Ria’s death.
She rose to her feet and looked at me warmly. This scenario is so confusing; I don’t even know what’s coming next.
“I give my condolences to your loved one’s death. I was hoping to prevent any violence that the demons would have done,” she gave Neclousen a threatening look but he seemed unfazed, “I failed on that part.”
I hesitated before speaking, “I-It’s okay. Really.” She stared a moment, observing me from head to toe. I swallowed the nervous lump in my throat.
“Why don’t you take a seat?” She said gesturing to a sofa. Without saying a word, I quietly turned and sat on the sofa while she sat on the one opposite of me. Silence passed and set in an awkward mood. After a minute of silence she finally spoke.
“LORD Jaclaire Alexandria Simonsfeild,” shivers went up my spine on the word Alexandria; only my dad called me that, “as of today you are officially a trainee witch. In this society, witches can only earn their MD, or master’s degree, by attending several months of training and passing the magicka exams. You will need this training to survive in battle, not saying that you will be engaging in fights every day, but when your life is in danger and your guardian isn’t there to protect you.
“I will not be rearranging my schedule to get you up to speed. You will have to ask those around you. This is your new life, and I know this is all sudden, but I can’t exactly slow down the world to settle you in. You may ask any questions now while you can.”
I had absolutely no clue what to say. I expected her to tell me what was going to happen to me now, but she made it very clear she wasn’t going to. She laid everything out at once, and didn’t stop until she was finished. I needed time to process it all, but I was getting a feeling I shouldn’t make her wait. I thought up a question that I actually wanted an answer to.
“Is it necessary to fight?” I asked.
“Didn’t I just explain this?” She replied with an annoyed tone.
“It’s just that…well…”
“Spit it out already.”
“I’m scared to fight.”
