NORMAL POV;

"Lexi!" I called "what mummy?" "time for bed princess" I said as she ran into the kitchen in her pyjama's cuddling her favourite teddy. "Come on baby" I said as I picked her up and carried her upstairs and into her bedroom. "when Alex ome mummy?" She asked as I laid her in bed and tucked her in. I sat down next to her as she snuggled her teddy. "Ermm.. I'm not sure princess I will get him to come up when he is home yeah?" "Okay," she said before closing her eyes and trying to go to sleep. "night night George" she said quietly in her teddy's ears. "Aw" I said quietly as I smiled down at my beautiful little girl. "Night mummy" "night baby" "you an go if you ant, my ot George" "okay princess, see you in the morning" "ee you" "love you" "ove you" I stood up and flicked her lamp on that was next to her bed before making my way out of her bedroom and flicking her big light off before going downstairs. I made my way downstairs and made myself a cup of tea before sitting down in the living room, grabbing my phone and phoning my best friend.

N: hey!

M: hey Nat, you okay?

N: yeah I'm good, how are you?

M: I'm alright

N: how's my little Lexi?

M: I've just put her to bed actually, else you could have spoke to her

N: awh, I will come round tomorrow

M: okay

N: Jodie, you okay?

M: yeah, I'm fine

N: things still not great?

M: erm.. There alright

N: what's happened?

M: I don't know to be honest, I think I need to sit and talk to him

N: well make sure you do lady

M: I will

N: good, right so what we doing friday? You going to come out or what?

M: depends if I can get someone to come and watch Lexi

N: won't Alex do it?

M: not sure, will ask him

N: I really want you to come out

M: I know you do, you've asked me at least once a month to come out

N: don't laugh Jode, your my bestfriend, I miss our wild night outs

M: I know, me too, but I'm a mummy now, I have other priorities

N: you know you miss coming out

M: I do, but my little princess is more important

N: I know

M: Alex is working away this weekend

N: what!? Ergh, he would be!

M: his job is his job Nat..

N: I know, it's a good job he's looking after my girls

M: mmm

N: so, will your mum have her?

M: she might

N: she might?

M: yeah she probably will,

N: so night out on friday what you think?

M: I think that is a good idea!

N: good, anyway, I'm off to bed, night babe, love you!

"Hey babe!" Alex shouted as he walked through the door. "Shhhhh! I've just got her to sleep!" "Alright chill, I only just got home, wanted to see my girlfriend, but no.." "Alex, its not just us two anymore, hasn't been for a long time, we're not a couple, we're a family.." I sighed as I began to empty the washer "Mmm.." Alex replied. I heard Lexi begin to stir "could you just go check on her for me please?" I asked "what?" "Can you check on her for me please?" I asked again, by this time Lexi had began to cry. "Not my child, not my problem" he shrugged before going into the living room and getting comfy on the sofa. I sighed before going upstairs. "What's up princess?" I asked as I went and sat on her bed. "My eard outing" "oh, nothing to worry about princess, just some people outside" I lied. "My ant a uddle" she said as she stood up and gave me a very tight hug. "Now are you going to get into bed and go to sleep?" "eah" "good girl" I said as she laid down and got comfy before quickly falling back to sleep. I stayed and made sure she was definitely asleep before going back downstairs and into the living room. "I'm sorry babe" Alex said as he wrapped his arms around me as I cuddled into him. "Its okay, I understand, she's not your child.." "Well she is like my own.." "Yeah" "I didn't mean for that to come out like it sounded" "no no, its okay" I fake smiled. "I love you, do you love me?" He asked "of course" I smiled before we shared a kiss. "Good, so when you going to take this off, and swap it for one from me?" He asked with a slight smirk on his face as he pointed to the beautiful engagement ring on my finger. I didn't know what to reply so I just smiled. There was so much more behind that ring, so much more than 'just an ex'. I guess you could say I was 'saved by the bell' as the doorbell rang. "I'll go" I smiled "okay babe" Alex replied. I got up and made my way to the front door thinking about what had just been said. I couldn't possibly part from that ring, it's one of two things I had left of him. I plastered a smile on my face as I opened the door, for my face to drop as I was greeted by him. Someone who I wasn't expecting to see. It was him. Someone who I wasn't ready to see.
