⫷ 36 • Reunion With A Friend ⫸

A grumpy man yawned as he stroked his hair. Meanwhile, William was holding my hand so casually. I was confused whether to be flustered or be annoyed by that drowsy man.

“I was helping her out. See.” He pointed at my notes that are now collected in one place.

I snatched my hand from him and held on to my notes.

“Thanks for the help, William!” I took the chance to stand away from him. I turned to Moran who was sleeping so soundly here without making me notice him. “And for how long you were there, sir Moran?” I asked in an annoyed but polite manner.

“Probably before you entered this room.” he cracked his neck bones as he stood up.

“You are talented at sleeping stealthily.” I sarcastically spoke. I can see him getting pissed. William said nothing. He just quietly took a seat on the sofa near him.

“Hey kid! Don’t try to be cheeky. I can sleep anywhere I want. Besides, Aren’t you forgetting something?” He sneered at me while coming near us.

“I don’t think so.”

“You forgot what you did to me last night?”

Ah! He is talking about that incident.

“Oh yes! Albert made me drink a lot. I brought inconvenience to you especially.”

“Shouldn’t you be apologising?”

“But it wasn’t my fault in the first place.” I responded. It is not like I can’t apologise, I just don’t want to apologise to him. “Isn’t it Albert who made me drunk? Am I right, William?”

“You are indeed correct.” 

“William!” Moran exclaimed feeling betrayed.

“But if we look through it. Albert only offered the drinks. Jane, only you were aware of your liquor intake. You should have stopped before reaching your limit. So it is partly your fault as well.” William stated. 

“Exactly!” Moran shouted happily.

It kinda made me angry that they are against me on this matter. I stared at William with droopy eyes. 

Nevermind, I need them so I can’t talk shit to them.

“Alright. I apologise to Sir Moran for what I did last time.” 

“Very Well, I forgive you.” Moran patted my shoulder with a winning smirk. I ain’t forgiving William for that.

Afterwards, Louis entered the room with some tea for us. Albert was away for his business so he couldn’t join. The last person who entered was Fred and our discussion finally started.

*Few hours later*

We continued discussing for hours and  Louis had left in the middle to make dinner for us. Meanwhile, after listening to me their reactions were absurd. I completely understand their reactions since I'm talking about taser and also some other devices. William thought for a while before agreeing to meet with Von for that. 

Somehow, we managed to agree with the plan and everyone understood their roles. No matter how much they are against me, they would definitely listen to William. I did my best to get to their good sides. I'm not sure if it worked or not.

*At Midnight*

I borrowed a new cloak and comfortable clothes to wear from Louis to go outside. A carriage was waiting at the backside of the Moriarty manor. As I approached the carriage, I saw Fred waiting in front of it.
