chapter 8: the stealth assassination test. ventress's training begins.

Naruto knew that his master asajj ventress was an excellent assassin.
He knew that she could be tracking him just as easily as he was tracking her. This lead naruto to believe that an assassin is both Hunter and prey.

Naruto also knew his tracking skills were not that great either due to a lack of teaching from a certain one eyed jonin sensei named kakashi.

So Naruto decided to improvise by sticking to the shadows and listening in on the crowds of people that went by him.

Keeping All his senses on high alert he also made certain to keep an eye on his surroundings. More specifically above him and behind him as well.

It didn't take him long to spot out of the corner of his eye above him a flash of pale white skin leaping the rooftops.

Using his acrobatic skills ahsoka taught him he drew a single kunai from the holster on his hip and hid it inside his sleeve

Keeping his distance he said to himself.

"I don't think master ventress is aware that I've spotted her yet.
If I'm lucky and conceal myself well enough I might get the drop on her."

Staying in the shadows Naruto waited for the right moment to strike. That moment came whenever ventress stopped to see where her apprentice had vanished off to only to suddenly feel a sharp metal blade at her throat.

Ventress then smirks with pride and said.

"Well done my young apprentice.
You have passed the first test.
You have surpassed my expectations with your stealth and improvising skills.

You used what you had on you and went with it as your weapon of choice. That's one of many skills a true assassin must know.

Congratulations. Next we move on to information gathering and infiltration.

To accomplish and pass these tests you must gather information while you blend in with the crowds of people around you.

Try to visit multiple areas you know that information frequently passes through on a daily basis and gain information about your target without giving away your identity location or intentions and the target's identity. This is my second test.

Pass and we move on to your final test which will be to infiltrate a heavily guarded and secure facility like the black ops headquarters for example."

And naruto said.

"Very well master ventress.
I shall complete your assignment.
Is there a time limit???."

And ventress said.

"The time limit is as follows.
You have from now till sunset to gather information on your target.
If you can't then you fail.

If your spotted then you fail and must try again. You may have 3 attempts to succeed and only 3 attempts. Good luck and this time you may use only 1 force ability so choose wisely."

Naruto already knew which force ability he would choose. And that was Force telepathy the ability to read minds using the force itself to gather information on anyone or anything.

Wasting no time he immediately put up his hood and began casually and flawlessly moving through the crowds at the village square even hiding out in several nearby stands as if he were just another bystander.

As he listened in closely to the multiple people around him he overheard two of the konoha council elders talking about how danzo was in league with orochimaru and how he still intended to overthrow the hokage by brainwashing Naruto.
