"Shad !! Shad Smith !! Get your narrow ass in here ! " My mama yelled from upstairs in her room . I ran up the stairs and walked in her room .

"What's up ma' ? " I asked her walking over to her and pulling her wheelchair out from the closet and rolling it over to her . She pointed to get her oxygen tank

"You ready to get up ? did Shawna give you a shower ? " I asked picking up her fragile frame and putting it in the wheel chair .

" Yes shaddy , your sister deserved a break after my shower , so I let her go and called you here . She gave me my pills and soup . " she explained . I gave her the regular vomit - bag . And we talked about a trial medication her doctor put her on called ' Immunotherapy ' .

I hated that she got lung cancer about a year ago or so , my dad left her like a fuckin' coward when he found out . My sister helps out a lot , she also a nurse so she know what she doin' . I was snapped out of my thoughts when my mom started to throw up in her bag . She hacked up all kinds of spit .

"Anyways son , like I was saying .. you know Shawna engaged right ?" she asked coughing , putting her oxygen mask back on

" Yea' mama . She mentioned him a couple of times on the phone .. Uh , Derrick right ? That little white boy ? " I asked wiping her shirt and face with a wet rag .

" Yes that's him baby . He real nice too . Got him a little office business job and everything ." she said pushing her gray scarf back .

I looked around the house and no matter how many times I begged her to move into a better house than in this ghetto ass neighborhood , she would say no . but today I wasn't taking no for an answer .

"Mama , we're not gonna argue today , I already put this house on the market and I'm - "

"No shad !" she glared at me as she cut me off . I shook it off and continued

"No ma' you gone have 24/7 'round the clock nurses and your doctor already agreed to move in along with his little family . Shawna was in on it too so she already set your room up alright ? And everyone gettin' settled in right now . So I'm going to have CJ , Tony and all them come down and load the truck with the rest of your things . No more "no shad " okay ? I love you and I want what's best for you ." i explained to her as I held her hand . She just looked at me with tears in her eyes . She pulled me into her frail arms and cried . I kissed her forehead .

I pulled out my phone and started callin' CJ . I put it to my ear as mama lightly snored in her wheelchair . A couple of rings later and he answered .

"What's up Shad?"

"Mama Deliah know what's up . come in the truck 'ight ? " I said headin' outside for some fresh air .

"Kay Lets go ! Granny waitin' !"
I yelled up the stairs as I tied up my work shoes . Footlocker was my first job . It had pretty nice pay . I dropped kayla off at my parents house everyday I work and she loves them. I'm Happy they get along so well . I love my parents but they can get to be extra .

I walked to the bottom of the staircase and put my hand on my hip , Kayla was too much .

"Kayla Marie Kelly !! Let's go ! I can't be late no more this week " I yelled just as she came down the stairs . For a 4 year old she was gettin everywhere by herself . I held my hand out and she grabbed my hand and jumped off the last step smiling from ear to ear . I walked outside with my baby holding my hand . I put her bags away and strapped her in her car seat .

I locked the house and looked across the street at Mama Deliah house and saw many guys moving boxes in trucks . I had to run over real quick because I loved mama Deliah like my second mom .

"Uh hello ?" I looked amongst the men and saw a light skinned guy walk up to me.

"Who you and what you want ?" he asked

"Um . Don't be rude boy . Where is Ms. Deliah ? " I said rolling my eyes at the fact he wanted to be rude.

" Sorry ma' . " he said looking me up and down and smirkin' . "Go talk to Shad in there . " he said and I was star struck . Shad? . Oh god that boy gave life and I love his songs. I tried to maintain myself because I heard he was a player . I walked into the house and instantly saw The Shad Smith .. I casually walked over . " Um hello ? are you ... Shad ?" I asked him as I tapped his shoulder one time .

"Yes . Who might you be ma' ?" he asked lookin' me over like his friend .

"I'm Jazmine . I live across the street and I'm lookin' for Ms.Deliah. I'm her friend .. Is she okay ?" I said bitting on my lip starting to get anxious

" Yea',She 'ight , she just relocatin' . I'll be happy to give you the address . " he said givin me a little smile that made me blush a bit .

"Uh, okay sure .. " I said as he wrote Down the address

"Here you go ma' , I should prolly get that numba' too .. Ya'know for all the information " he smirked handing the address to me .

I couldn't help but blush . "Boy bye . But I guess I'll give it to you." I said rolling my eyes like I wasn't fan-girling inside .
