"Mommy!" Your son's shrill voice made you smile as you stared at him smiling and waving from your phone. He was excitedly jumping up and down in front of their computer. He really looked happy to see you, and wasn't that enough to break your heart?

"Hello, baby. Do you miss me?" You smiled at him and he nodded.

"Yes, mommy. Aren't you going home yet?" He pouted as he asked this, making him look even cuter but the sadness in his eyes was so evident it made you tear up. You cleared your throat silently so you wouldn't sound like you were about to cry. You couldn't cry in front of your son. He needs to see you act strong so he would stay strong.

"I'm sorry, baby, but I still have to finish my work. I can't go home yet." Yejoon smiled at you, his little fingers once again tapping on his chin.

"Mmmm... it's okay mommy. But you have to give me a gift when you go home." Yejoon flashed you his cute, dimpled smile and paired it with his puppy eyes, which he knew would always get him what he wants.

You chuckled at your son's cleverness. Even at such a young age, this boy already knew how to make you obey him.

"Of course, Yejoon. In fact, I already bought one for you." As soon as the words left your mouth, Yejoonbegan to jump up and down again in excitement.

"Really, mommy? I wanna see, Iwanna see!" He was squealing these words and your mom couldn't help but laugh at your son's antics.

"Sure, baby. Wait, I'll just take it." You brought your phone with you as you entered your bedroom. You took the stuffed toy neatly placed on top of your study table, the one you bought a few days ago.

"Here, baby," you said, showing the toy to your son.

"Wow! It's so cute! Thank you, mommy." You smiled at your son and let him stare at the toy for a few more minutes before putting it back on the table.

"Now, study well okay. So I'll buy you more toys." Your son nodded before pouting. "But, mommy. I want you to come home. One toy is enough. I don't need more."

Those words sent another wave of fresh tears in you and you know you had to end this call or you'll cry in front of your son.

"I will come home soon, baby. Just wait for me." Yejoon nodded at your words but the sad look in his eyes didn't disappear.

"Mommy, when can I meet my daddy?" Yejoon suddenly asked and it effectively took away the sadness in you. Now, you felt cold all over.

Why was he suddenly asking for his dad? Sure, he did ask for him before but you already told him that his dad was very far and couldn't meet him. You honestly plan to tell him all about Namjoon once he's old enough. But not now.

So why the sudden curiosity?

You saw your mom's brows also furrowed in shock and confusion. Even she didn't know that it wasNamjoon who fathered Yejoon. She just knew it was someone from Korea.

"Uhm... why are you asking thatJoon? I already told you that he's far away, right?" you said as gently as you could, but somehow, the tremor in your voice was still evident.

"Nothing, mommy." Yejoon smiled at you, but his little fingers were now massaging his forehead. Not good. This means he was seriously thinking. Was he really that curious about his father?

"I know it's not nothing, Joon. Tell me." You urged him and after a few moments, he sighed and nodded.

"My classmates were all picked up from school by their daddies this morning. I'm the only one who got picked up by granny. But it's okay, mommy. I'm just curious." Yejoonsmiled up at you again, and your heart clenched at how mature your son was.
