You paced back and forth while you wait for Namjoon to finish donating his blood. As soon as Namjoonwent out of the room, the doctor trailing behind him, you immediately went towards them.
"Mr. Kim is a perfect match forYejoon. You can now rest assured that Yejoon is going to recover quickly." That was all the doctor said before smiling and leaving you alone with Namjoon.
The doctor's words lifted up the weight you didn't know you'd been carrying on your heart and you felt weak from the sudden relief. Breathing out a sigh, you felt your knees buckled under you. You were about to hit the floor when you feltNamjoon caught you and steadied you.
"Thanks," you whispered, feeling drained.
Namjoon must be feeling dizzy after donating his blood, but he didn't show it. He just silently helped you walk back to Yejoon'sroom, his warmth giving you a feeling of calmness and security.
You both entered the room and you saw your mother still sitting besideYejoon as your son slept. She looked up as you entered and you smiled at her, silently telling her that everything will be alright. She breathed a sigh of relief before getting up and walking out of the room, probably to cry.
Your mom was a strong woman. She didn't like to show people her weakness. So now that the crisis was over, she's probably back to being that kind of person again. And since Namjoon was here, there was no way she would cry in front of him.
When your mom was finally out of the room, you looked at Namjoonand saw him staring at Yejoonintently.
"Go to him," you whispered, your voice hoarse. He looked at you with questioning eyes and you smiled at him.
With that, he slowly approachedYejoon. His steps were slow and deliberate, as if he was about to go near a very precious thing. He stopped inches away from Yejoon'sbed before he took a deep breath.
You wonder how this feels to him. Was he shocked? Yes, he already suspected it, but seeing his son with his own eyes must still be weird for him.
After a few moments, Namjoonclosed the remaining distance between him and his son. He then sat at the chair beside the bed before taking Yejoon's small hand in his big ones. He gently pushedYejoon's away from his face as he stared at him.
You just watched Namjoon from a far, not wanting to intrude this precious moment he have with his son. You really felt guilty now. As you watched how Namjoon lovingly touched Yejoon, you couldn't help but think how you depraved him of this opportunity. How you depraved not only Namjoon, but also Yejoon. You were the reason why your son was longing for a father.
You felt a fresh wave of tears about to come out. Taking a deep breath to calm yourself, you heard the door opened again. Your mom entered the room and she looked at you and then to Namjoon, who was still staring at Yejoon.
"Y/N, I think you two should talk." Your mom's eyes were blood red, confirming your suspicion that she cried outside.
"Why?" you asked her, trying to play dumb.
"You didn't tell him about Yejoon, right? He just found out now?" Your mom looked at Namjoon pointedly so you had no choice but to acknowledge the question.
"Yes." That was all you could say. You wouldn't even dare explain to your mom why you did it. You just didn't have the energy left for it.
"Then you should talk it out. Fix your thing, you two. You wouldn't want Yejoon to wake up and finally meet his father, only to know you aren't in good terms." Your mom had a point. You really wouldn't want that.
Sighing, you nodded and went over to Namjoon.
You lightly tapped his shoulder and smiled at him when he turned to look at you.
