Levi woke up to the smell of scrambled eggs and coffee. The boy rubbed his eyes and yawned as he slowly stumbled into the kitchen, his mouth drooling at the aroma.

"Good morning Levi," His mom said in a warm tone. Her son only grunted back in response and sat on a chair at the table.

She served him some eggs and chocolate milk in his favorite mug. "Eat up dear, we'll be a bit busy today."

"Busy? What do mean by busy?" Levi groaned as he ate his food. "Ah, well, the neighbors are moving in today."

Levi paused in the middle of putting the fork to his mouth and his eyes widened. He slammed his hands on the table making his mother jump a bit. "REALLY?" He said with sparkles in his eyes.

His mom nervously smiled and nodded. ' It's like he forgot what he said yesterday,' She thought as he sat down at the table. "Mhm! So that's  why you've got to finish quick, so we can get ready and go held them unpa-"

Levi had already shoved the rest of his eggs in his mouth and chugged his chocolate milk before speeding to his room. His mom froze in surprise but then sighed.

She smiled.

At least her son was in a good mood.

"Hello there!" Levis mom exclaimed as she approached the neighbors house. A woman at the porch slightly jumped and quickly turned around. "A-Ah, hello!" She said as stepped off the wooden plank and made her way towards the mother and son.

"You must be our new neighbors," His mom said as she gave a welcoming smile. The purple haired woman gave a gentle smile and nodded. Levi stared at her.

She really was pretty. Very fidgety and nervous, but kind and welcoming.

She wasn't as pretty as his mom though. No one was.

Levis mom held out her hand and the other woman's shakey hand reached back. They shook, and the purple haired woman took note in how gruff the black haired females hand was. That was the hand of a hardworking person.

"Nice to meet you," Levis mom said as she pulled back. "Nice to meet you too!" The other woman said, her eyes diverting to the small boy hiding behind his mother. She smiled at him.

His heart thumped in his chest.

She still wasn't as pretty as his mom.

The other lady and his mom chatted a bit about the house and all, and Levi was turning his head around. He was trying to look for the kid his mom was talking about last night.

"Um, why don't you come in so we can talk more. The truck should be here soon with our boxes," The woman said, motioning to the house.

Levis mom agreed and he had to tag along. Once they stepped into the house, obviously it was empty, but there was four chairs already settled in.

"We only managed to hold those and some food in our truck, I'm sorry if it's not much," The woman nervously said. "No no! Don't apologize, you're barely moving in and it's understandable."

She gave another one of her dazzling smiles.

His mom lied to him. Levi couldn't believe her. There wasn't any kid for the whole day they spent helping, and it's been that way for more than two weeks.

This is why he doesn't get his hopes up. Hope never lead him to any good.

To cure his boredom, he spent a couple days making a wooden boat. It would be one of a kind, unlike the paper ones.

He stuck out his tongue as he make the final touches, and stepped back to look at it. Oh, what a beautiful masterpiece.

The boy got a nail and carved his name on the side of it. "I FINISHED IT!" He yelled running out the door, holding it up. His mother turned to look at him. She smiled as he headed off into the woods.

"Be back by dawn Levi!" She yelled to him as he disappeared within the wooden oaks.

' I can't wait to try this out! ' Levi said smiling like a mad man. He had spent so much time on the boat and it was all worth it. She was a beauty. 2nd prettiest to his mom. The purple haired lady was 3rd. Don't ask.

The boy found the river he spent most of his time at. He ran towards it and stared at the water.

"This time, it's going to work, got it?!" He yelled at the liquid. He didn't quite know why, but he found that river as an enemy. His biggest rival. It had taken so many boats from him, and now's his time to kick water butt.

He kissed his dear boat as good luck and gently pushed it in the water.

It floated.

"Yeaaah!" He kept jumping in excitement. He forgot about his boat for a split second. Because when he turned to look back at it, it was already going down the stream.

"NOOO!" He yelled. All of that hard work.

No, wait. He wasn't going to admit defeat in the rivers hands! Not anymore!

The boy started running in the direction it floated off to. ' I'm gonna get that boat back no matter what! '. He made a determined face and ran as fast as he could.

He didn't even know where he was going.
