Trees surrounded him and it felt a circle of dizziness. The sky was pitch black and the strong sound of winds pierced his ears.

   Someone stood in front of him. A figure about his size gazed at him, with the saddest eyes he'd ever seen. Levi had reached out and touched the other's cheek, but the figure continued to give off it's longing gaze.

"I..."

"Levi! Time for breakfast hun!" His mom shouted from downstairs. Levi woke up alarmed. He groaned and slowly sat up, hunching over like a zombie.

The boy made his way downstairs and found his spot on the wooden chair. A plate of pancakes sat in front of him along with a cup of milk. Levi's mom ruffled his hair and sat at the table with him.

"Levi," She spoke taking a bite from the pancake, "are you going to play with Light today?"

Oh. Him.

Levi gave a muffled response, and his mother frowned. "I thought you wanted to make new friends, hun!" She stuffed another piece in her mouth. 'Well he's different,' He'd wanted to say but kept his mouth shut. Levi had expected a kid like him, not some weirdo. Anybody but that talk-less purple haired boy.

Once they both finished their breakfast, Levi's mom went to the neighbor's to help them settle the rest of their stuff,  and as for Levi, he went back out to the river.

Levi sat on the edge, throwing rocks he found nearby into it. He grunted. The male hadn't stop thinking about the neighbor. What was his name again? Levi thought. He knew it was something peculiar, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

Levi sighed and stood up. He wanted to stop thinking about the other. It set a sort of frustration in him that he was unfamiliar with. I wonder what's on the other side of the river? Levi looked beyond the streaming water. He'd never gone on that side, his mother didn't want him wandering off too far, but aside from that it had creeped him out.

Maybe I can go explore it today? He thought.
