The rest of the week was pretty boring, not gonna lie.
Actually, it felt like I was repeating the same day over and over, only with a few minor changes throughout the days.I basically ate, talked to Parker (or at least attempted to if he was in a good enough mood), I mostly just cuddled with him throughout the day, but I did get railed at least once.
And that's about it, nothing interesting happened throughout the entire week, not even some kind of monster attack happened.
I was going to most likely die from boredom if I'm being completely honest here, there's no way I'm spending the rest of my days down in a cave with a creature that tried to marry a rock and is now basically my boyfriend.
...
And maybe I didn't have to?It was (probably) Monday when I first got the idea, an idea in which will change Parker's life for the better...hopefully.
"Heyyy, dude?"
Parker lazily looked up from where his head was laying, which was in a pile of rabbit hides.
"Need anything?"
His speaking had gotten a lot better, along with his English that hardly sounded broken now."Ah no, I just wanted to ask you something..."
He gave me his full attention, sitting up and crisscrossing his legs in my direction. (His back posture could use a little work...)"Sooo...where exactly do you hunt? Is there somewhere around the cave where rabbits just seem to gracefully fall from or something?"
He smirked at my stupid question, "No, I climb to the...surface."
"Okay, so you've been outside of the cave then, correct?" I muttered.
His small smirk slowly faded as his eyebrows furrowed, "Yes...? Why do you want to know? Is something wrong?"
"N-No, no! Nothing's wrong, I promise. It's just...look, don't get mad at me for asking this next question, okay?" I innocently pleaded, not wanting to face an angry version of him today.
"Just tell me!"
"Parker, do you want to come back up to the surface with me?!" I blurted out, flinching at my own words as I scooted back for safety.
His expression shifted to something that I've never seen him express ever (at least, not in front of me.)
And that was...fear?
He looked scared...."Why...? Do you not...like it here?" His raspy voice was suddenly back, probably out of anxiousness.
"Huh? No, Parker-"
"Do you not like me?? Did I do something wrong? Why do you want to leave?" His tense body slowly trembled as he stood to his feet.
"Dude, just listen!-"
"I...I don't want you...to leave! Don't leave, please. I don't want to be...alone again. I can't handle it. Please don't leave me. What did I do wrong?? I can fix it. I can fix me. I can- I can-"
He sounded like a computer bugging out as he constantly stuttered on the same repeating words that were spilling out of his mouth.
"Parker, please just listen to me! Don't be afraid!"
"DON'T LEAVE ME PLEASE!!!"
His voice sounded like one of those monster's screeching right in front of me, the memory of that monster almost killing me came hurdling into my brain like a boomerang swinging back around for me to catch. But instead I missed the catch and it smacked me right on the noggin.
I watched in my own fear as Parker held his head with both hands, falling to his knees in the process. I couldn't understand what he was yelling, it sounded like complete gibberish, but I could make out a few words:
"STOP" "SCARED" "NO" "WOODS" "HOUSE" "HUNGER" "HELP"....
I think I might've accidentally triggered a memory of his to resurface, and it most likely wasn't a good one.Ohhhh shit.
"Parker, Parker! Hey, you're going to be okay, I promise! I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you remember something I thought it was just a...simple question!"
Of course it wasn't a simple question! I was literally asking him to ditch his own home and come with me back into human civilization!
In attempt to comfort him, I tried to pull him in for a small hug, which was immediately rejected due to his sudden shoving.
"S-STAY BACK! DON'T TOUCH ME!" His terrified voice screeched out. Parker covered his face with the hands that were once grabbing his head in agony."Parker, please! It's me! It's just me, It's Chester, okay? I'm not going to hurt you and I never will hurt you." I quickly stammered out, placing a hand on his trembling knee.
His tear filled eyes darted up to look at me, twitching a few times in the process, "Don't...hurt me..."
Hearing him say those words with such fear in his voice made me want to start crying, how many times has he had to experience this without anyone beside him?
"I'm not going to hurt you, I promise Parker. You're going to be okay, I'm here..." I smiled sadly, moving my hand to his shoulder.
His eyes softened after darting around for a long minute, maybe to recognize my face?
Well, whatever he was doing helped him."Chester...?" His dry voice spoke, small tears continued to fall down his pinkish cheeks.
"Yeah, it's me...it's only me." I sighed in relief, hesitating to pull him back in for another hug. Luckily, he allowed me this time.
"I'm...sorry." He sobbed into my shoulder, his sharp finger nails dug into my back as he tightened his grip on me.
"Don't apologize, it isn't your fault...you can't control that stuff, okay? You are alright now..."
We stayed in that hugging position for about five minutes, which I didn't mind at all in the slightest. If he needed comfort, then damn it, I'm going to try my best in giving him the best comfort he had ever been faced with!
"Parker, you don't need to explain anything to me, okay? I understand that it's probably a personal thing. If you do want to tell me however, please...please wait until your one hundred percent ready, okay? I don't want you to go forcing trauma out just because it's been somewhat exposed to me already. Take your time for me, got it?"
He didn't answer my question. He just kept holding on to me, and I was okay with that. I didn't need an exact answer or anything.
"Chester...."
His raspy voice ran throughout the cave as he finally pulled away from me, looking me dead in the eyes,
"I want to...come up to the surface...with you, please..."
