The easterly wind of September
Gently osculated my neck;
Brushing against my hair
As the door closed.
Adjusting my headtie,
I let the creeping hands of coldness
Fondle my mellow heart
While I watch Home go away—
Not this four-walled building,
The bearer of breaths: my mother.
