Ever since I married Adam mobs surround the castle. Only those who live within these walls know the truth of our story, about the curse and our love. However Gaston's death and their belief that Adam is just an imposter pretending to be the beast transformed has resulted in endless hatred.
We can't leave the palace for fear that we will be lynched. People believe that we have commited unspeakable acts while Adam was, or supposedly still is, the Beast.
They believe I'm suffering from stockholm syndrome or that I've been driven to insanity. If only they knew the truth. If only they could see that Adam only took me to attempt to free himself of the curse. I was never a prisoner. I was free to leave if I so chose to.
I love Adam because he changed. He learned to be gentle and kind. He learned to care for me and not just for himself. He learned how to love. My acceptance of him was what broke the curse, if I was suffering from an insanity the curse never would have been lifted.
If only they would see, if only they could accept the truth. Unfortunately Gaston has left them in such a rage that reason goes over their heads. The best we can do is sit and pray the walls hold them back.
