I had spent most of my life down in the ocean wondering where I belonged. I had always loved being a princess, but I wished to be free from my father and to venture the world. Meeting Eric was the day I got one step closer to being free.
However, after our wedding and having Melody all was not as it should have been. Melody's kidnapping wasn't the worst of it.
Living on the land I learned of horrors that I had never even dreamed of before. People fished and ate the creatures of the sea. Not to mention the oil spills!! I did my best to stop all this from happening. Some may call me an environmentalist, if only they knew the truth. Father is fearing the worst, he may be forced to close the kingdom off to the rest of the ocean. As of right now the castle is a safe house for the ocean creatures, but it can only hold so many. The shores around Eric and my kingdom are protected by laws that Eric has passed for my sake, but I fear that there is only so much I can do.
I fear that one day the oceans may be so polluted that even Father's kingdom will not be able to keep the sea creatures safe.
