The Mysterious Kokichi Kinnie

Chapter. 11 Outnumbered

         When Kokichi and the others got back to Casa V3, Kokichi went to his room to put Kiki's belongings on his bed. He then returned to the living room to find everyone else there. They all exchanged nervous glances.

    "What's everybody looking so nervous about?" Kokichi asked them. Kaito shifted his weight, as if he were contemplating on what he was about to say next.

   "Um...Kokichi, I think we all need to talk," he said. 

   "Kiki is staying here," Kokichi replied, getting straight to the point. "She's not...as bad as you're making her out to be."

   "Kokichi, you saw what she did!" Kaito countered. "She's dangerous!" 

   "Wh-What happened?" Kaede asked.

   "It's Kiki," Kaito explained. "She's the one behind the recent bloodsucking murders." Everyone in the room fell silent. "And Kokichi wants her to live with us," Kaito added with an accusatory tone at Kokichi. Everyone looked at Kokichi in shock. 

   "You know, Kaito, it's funny that you're always willing to believe in people, but when it comes to someone important to me, you wanna go back on your word," Kokichi said. 

   "This is different, Kokichi," Kaito argued. "She's...a vampire! C'mon, Kokichi! I know you better than this! You normally wouldn't allow someone like her to live under the same roof with you!"

  "Oh, really?" Kokichi raised an eyebrow. "Even though I'd rather not to, I'm living under the same roof with a cold-blooded killer!" He pointed at Maki. "And everyone else is fine with it! But you know what? If she were ordered to kill one of us, she'd do it in a heartbeat!" 

"Th-That's different..." Kaito muttered. "Maki Roll isn't like that."

  "You don't know that!" Kokichi exclaimed. Then he rubbed the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Look, I know I'm not the type to believe in people. But it's different with Kiki! I may not have known her long at all, but she's my family! She may be a vampire, but I saw the 'human' side of her when I encountered her in an alleyway!"

   "You're lying," Maki glared at him. "You didn't just 'encounter' her, she attacked you!"

   "She attacked you?!" Tsumugi asked Kokichi in horror.

   "It doesn't matter," Kokichi replied. "The point is that there was a brief moment where she asked me to help her before her vampire instincts took over her again. I think if we could just...find a way to help her, than she can-"

   "No!" Maki interrupted. "She's too dangerous!" Kokichi glared at her. "If you want to help her, you can, but you can't come back here," Maki added.

   "Maki's right, Kokichi" Kaito agreed. "I understand that you want to believe in her, but she's just too much of a danger to everyone here, including you. I think everyone else here agrees." He looked around the room at everyone who had either apologetic looks on their faces, or just didn't look at Kokichi at all. 

   "So...nobody is going to help me find a way to help my cousin?" Kokichi asked in a low, angry voice. Nobody spoke up. Without saying another word, Kokichi left the living room and headed towards his bedroom. Little did Kokichi know that, in that very moment, a certain someone had been working on a way to help Kokichi help his cousin.
