"Woah." Emlyn and Connor both said at the sight before them . They were on top of a high hill camoflauged by thick shrubs and through small gaps they could see light , lots of light .

"Welcome to Humming Forest , home of the fae ." Arden , a smug look on his face as he opened the bushes and revealed the source of all the light .

"So the fae don't care about the whole half-" Connor groaned as an elbow colided with his ribs .

"The fae are peaceful , they wouldn't hurt you" Vanina said through gritted teeth .

Arden gave a small chuckle , "Plus they're like this small." he said holding his thumb and index finger apart .

"But before we go you are going to need to leave your... stuff ." He said pointing to the dead squirrel that Connor held wrapped in a bloody shirt . "And weapons if you have any ."

Once done , they all carefully made their way through the shrubs down a dirt path into a small town . The Main square .

Emlyn marvelled at the small town , every corner was covered in some sort of luminescent substance . The large sums of grass surrounding the various houses and shops held six petal flowers that glowed blue , the weeping willows glowed green .

There was another plant that Emlyn had never seen or heard about that glowed purple . The impressive medieval architecture and vegetation was not the only thing that pulled her interest . Every road was littered with tiny glowing humans with wings , faeries . As they passed they conversed with one another in words too soft for Emlyn to hear. Maybe Connor could. To her it sounded like a low buzz.

A chortle from her side revealed that he could in fact hear them.

Connor had been eyeing the strange land with as much curiosity as she had . He was surprised to notice that they didn't stick out as much as he had initially thought they would've . The faeries wore old clothing that he had not seen before , but the other supernatural people wore normal modern-day clothes, elves of all ages walked past (giving them odd glances that didn't go unnoticed by them) wearing jeans and T-shirts , witches and wizards walked by wearing leather bomber jackets , and coats , one even walked by without a shirt on (was that normal?) .

"Okay, this way !" Arden called as he lead them down the cobblestone road. As they bumped past people and ducked to avoid the fast faeries Emlyn studied everyone she saw. So did Connor.

She saw an elf with a light blue pixie cut walking next to a little boy with glowing orange hair. Behind them was a tall figure wearing a long purple cloak that covered their eyes, the person seemed to be in a hurry. There was a faint black outline that seemed to envelop their body.

"Hey who's that ?" Emlyn whispered to the others. They all turned to look at the figure.

"Probably a warlock, a few of them are still obsessed with the old cloaks everyone used to wear. I think some of them are even petitioning for everyone to stop wearing 'pop-culture clothes like weak humans' ." Arden answered with a shrug .

As they neared the end of the Main square the town grew quieter . They neared to the bigger houses located further away from the shops. They stopped at the door of one of the first houses and Arden gave a loud knock. The knock rattled the timber frames of the house.

Connor looked up at the house , "Wait how do the humans know about this place , its so---"

"Glow in the dark." Arden finished.

"Well yes ."

"The council. Before the sorcerers were divided the most powerful of them placed spells around the forest so humans couldn't discover it, it also only allows people with good intentions in.
