18. ESCAPE

- "Sajin, for the last time, don't get involved. The Kazekage is already furious that you refused to help in this mission. If you go against the orders, he would surely not let it go" Yura pleaded.

Sajin and Yura were completely against the idea of scarring Gaara. They even brought up the fact that Gaara was becoming more approachable, but the council was not having it. " But can he control his beast? It doesn't matter how friendly he becomes, we need him for defense not for entertainment" was the argument put forth against Gaara. Yura agreed to go with the plan as he was one of the lead shinobi in sealing jutsu, but Sajin refused to participate. The Kazekage was visibly furious and even threatened Sajin that she could lose her position, but Sajin did not budge. Yura respected her decision, but did not want her to take any more risks.

-" I know. But this is not right!" Sajin bit her nails. "I want to take Gaara sama to a better place, anywhere with less chaos"

Yura looked at her with sadness visible in his eyes.

- "I lost my child, our child because of this madness. The council was adamant in sending me to that spy mission, inspite of knowing that I was pregnant. This is what the council does, Yura. It destroys lives. Gaara sama shouldn't fall victim to it. He is just 6, Yura, just a baby. And Kumimono san is just 14. Can you even think what kind of disaster the council is befalling on them?" Sajin was now on the verge of tears.

She had lost her child due to a spy mission gone wrong. She was captured and physically tortured, which made her miscarry her one month old fetus. The kidnappers showed Sajin mercy after knowing about her miscarriage, but still, she couldn't justify her baby's death or her pain.The mission was overall a success, but the loss was too much to compensate. The council let her leave the Suna ANBU after the mission, dismissing her as a weak shinobi, but the Kazekage appointed her as his elite bodyguard right after.

- "I cannot, Sajin. I really cannot. But the best I can do now is to be able to seal the beast once again if Gaara sama lets it loose, so that least number of people are harmed. I possibly cannot defy the Kazekage's orders"

Yura went over to Sajin and planted a kiss on her forehead.

- "I am really sorry Sajin"

Yura took his leave as Sajin sat down on the floor, completely helpless.

As moments passed by, Sajin suddenly shot up as she felt a message being sent to her via the communication scrolls.

- "Sajin san, I need your help. Someone is attacking Gaara sama. They tried to kidnap me"

Sajin read the message and felt guilty as she was bound to look away. She ignored the message and went over to the kitchen to make her some tea to soothe her unbearable headache. But as she took a few sips, something hit her. She went over to the scroll and read the message again.

- "How is Kumimono san able to use the scroll?"

Inochi ran straight to the exit, with Gaara on her back, bound by an earth style rope. However, she suddenly came to a halt as she retrieved her mud clone.

- "SHIT!" Inochi took a turn and went in the direction of Sajin's residence. As she recieved her clone's memories, she realised that she had comitted a mistake.

"I shouldn't have used the communication scrolls. Shit, I am such a dumbass!!"

Inochi was busy fighting off Yashamaru that she completely forgot about her clone. Her mud clone thus already exchanged the messages with Sajin, before she came to know that it was all Kazekage's scheme.
