2. THE MISSION TO MASSACRE

This was no child's play. Team Kakashi was being sent to a mission which held the future of Konoha. A truce between The Leaf and The Rock.

- "We are the backups. If anything goes wrong at the rendevous spot, we will jump into action. Got it?" Kakashi explained to his team as they walked through the corridor of the Hokage building. Tenzo was busy in another mission which really made Inochi sad as she did not want to spend her time with two emo individuals. Even after a year, she couldn't handle being alone around the two for more than an hour.

-"Why are we going back to the consultation room if we already know the mission?" Inochi asked rather lazily. One more thing she hated; working more than required. She was, according to her, the most laziest but efficient kunoichi in the Hidden Leaf village. Nothing pissed her off more than extra work.

-"Lord Danzo called us. Maybe its a side mission we need to complete." Kakashi said rather plainly. However his plain expression soon turned disturbed when Danzo ordered to kill each and every rock ninja present during the mission if they betrayed them.

So possibly it was a mission to massacre. Itachi and Inochi weren't allowed to enter the room so they were not able to hear the conversation between Danzo and Kakashi.

-"What do you think of the truce?" Itachi asked while looking afar from the corridor at the horizon

- "Nothing special. I never really gave much thought to political stuff. I am not very bright in such things." Inochi said pretty non chalantly. She never had any interest in political stuff. Actually she never realised why the nations were at war. "Why can't the people just be lazy and have a good time living?" Inochi whined.

-"Its not that easy you know. There's so much sorrow and complexities that we can possibly never fathom."

- "Is that so?" Inochi questioned rather condescendingly.

She had gone through grief a lot of times in just the 12 years of her life. She saw her loved ones get killed and die like dominoes falling one after another. After a point everything seemed useless to her. She questioned why she was the one alive? Why was everyone around her dying like this. She felt as if loneliness and guilt was eating her alive. The last thing she needed was a "philosophical statement" from an emo kid who was brought up by a loving family and had a special place in his clan. "The complexities you talk about, do you know them yourself Itachi?" Inochi thought to ask Itachi but restrained herself.

-"Itachi, why were you selected for ANBU?" Inochi couldn't finish her question just when Kakashi got out of the room and asked them to follow.

"ugh .. this is so boring.." Inochi sighed. She couldn't speak this sentence out loud as they were in stake out and everyone else except her were looking quite tensed. "Why did I have to be paired with them. I am already suicidal and these two just makes me want to kill myself even more. Kakashi niisan is still ok, but him together with Itachi is just disturbing."

Inochi looked down from the branch she was sitting on. Might Gai's team who were actually assigned the main mission were having a feast.

"how the hell did they make such items in the forest?" Inochi thought while drooling.

-"Here, have a foodpill." Kakashi held out a distasteful foodpill after seeing how Inochi was drooling

-"I just had one. Plus they don't taste so good."

-"This is why we are the ANBU. They eat delicious food and us? foodpills while being at a stealth mode." Itachi said while being annoyed himself from the lack of delicious food.
