September 1st quickly rolled, and Selena and I had successfully made it out of our rented room in the Leaky Cauldron without being seen by my fans. It had been a relatively quiet few weeks other than death eaters roaming Diagon Alley more than usual. I had also convinced Selena to visit every shop in Diagon Alley to buy at least one item, which is why we now own Todd, the turtle.
We also bought a wand from Ollivander's so Dumbledore wouldn't suspect anything. Selena had told me Ollivander was a significant player for the light side, so we tried to be quick about our time with him. He spewed some crap about my wand core being rare and sharing phoenix feather with Voldermort, not that I really cared. I didn't plan on using the wand very often.
Our taxi dropped us off at King's Cross station ten minutes before the Hogwarts Express was set to leave. We pushed through the crowd until we were at the wall between platforms 9 and 10.
"You have to run straight through the wall," Selena deadpanned. I scoffed and glared at her. There was no way I would run at a wall and make a fool of myself if she was lying.
"I'm many things, but an idiot is not one of them."
She made a sound of disagreement, and I lightly shoved her, making her laugh. She gave me a wink before running at the wall, disappearing to the other side. I looked around to ensure no muggles were watching when I noticed a family of redheads walking toward me. I grinned as I spotted a pair of identical twins.
"Ophelia!" They yelled, running to hug me, but their mother stopped them to scold them. So instead, I ran to give them a hug.
"Fred, George," I said, embracing me. They had broad smiles on their faces as they looked down at me.
"You remembered our names?" Fred questioned. I gave them a confused look. Why wouldn't I remember their names? Someone cleared their throat behind us, and I turned to see a tall man with red hair staring at us.
"Well, boys, are you going to introduce us?" The man asked, giving them a pointed look.
"Mom, Dad, this is one of the girls we were telling you about from the robe shop, Ophelia Potter," George announced. His family silently gawked at me. The little girl squealed and tried to rush to me, but the oldest brother held her back. I awkwardly waved, side-eyeing the twins.
"That's Prefect Percy, firstie Ron and little Ginny. She'll start next year," Fred said, pointing at each sibling.
"What house do you want to be in, dearie?" Their mother asked.
"Hopefully, Slytherin," I said with a small smile before remembering Selena saying the Weasley's were Dumbledore supporters meaning Slytherins equal evil.
"But they're slim-" Ron began, but George stomped on his foot, shutting him up.
"Are you sure, dearie? Your parents were both Gryffindors. They have some lovely people. I'm sure you would fit in nicely with them," The mother said with a slight frown. I knew she was trying to be careful with her words, but I saw the true meaning behind them. My parents would be disappointed in me if I didn't make Gryffindor. The thought of disappointing my parents shouldn't have hurt, considering they've been dead for ten years. But it did—a lot.
"Um, it was nice meeting you guys, but I have to go. My friend is waiting for me on the other side. See you on the train Fred, George," I said without waiting for a reply. I quickly ran through the wall, wanting to be away from the Weasley's mother.
As I exited the wall, I had to quickly pull my trolley closer to me because I was inches away from hitting an old woman in the rear who was scolding her grandson. I immediately noticed the red steam train sitting patiently at the platform. Taking my eyes off the beautiful train, I looked around the platform at all the wizards and witches speaking to their excited children. Some of the families were well put together and seemed to be speaking in hushed tones, most likely purebloods, while others were sobbing and hugging their children, which I guess were not purebloods.
