Brantley’s POV:
There were countless trucks, cars, and bikes all lining Chase's circular drive telling me that the party was in full swing by the time I made it over to Chase’s. Since I had gotten stuck on the phone with my label manager, I’d told Ash that I would meet her over there as soon as I could. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to be the one to walk into the party with her on my arm, but unfortunately Scott had picked today of all days to rehash some things that we had not been able to agree on the last time for the next album. He wanted me to add more love songs to the new album while -at the time- I wanted more of a party album since that's basically the life I was living, minus the drugs, alcohol, and faceless women. But, since Ash and I had gotten together, I was feeling the love a little more. So needless to say, Scott was happy that we were now on the same page.

Finding a spot to park my truck, I switched off the engine and climbed out. Making my way to the back of the house, I could hear the music thumping and smell the smoke of a bonfire. Even though I didn't drink anymore, it didn't mean I didn't still love a good party. Especially if there was a fire involved. Mama used to joke all the time that I should have been a fireman since I loved to play with fire so much. And she wasn't wrong. I do like playing with fire, in more ways than one. Especially when it meant stoking the flames of desire within the woman I loved more than anything. And based on the glow coming from around the corner of the white plantation style house, it looked like Chase had built a big one.

As I rounded the corner of the house, I took in the amount of people and was shocked that everyone had actually come. When Chase and I had sent out the mass texts saying there was going to be a party tonight, we hadn't expected half of Nashville to be in attendance. Looking around Chase’s backyard, I couldn't help but laugh thinking about how his party had more country artists in attendance - it literally looked like a list of Nashville’s who’s who’s- than were usually at any of those alphabet awards shows the past few years. Not that I ever really liked those types of shows, but as of late, they have become too politically correct -hinging on being far left winged- which was yet another reason for me to stay away from those things. My views don't align with theirs so it was just easier to steer clear of those things and only attend when it was absolutely necessary. Which as of late, hasn't been the case.

But the amount of people, or the people themselves isn't what had a smile tearing at my face. No, that would be the raven haired women that had stolen my heart. Dressed in ripped skinny jeans that hugged her ass like a second skin, that same lime green crop top from that night on the bus, and the black leather riding boots I’d surprised her with this morning, she looked sexy as sin as she swayed to the music that was playing over the outdoor speakers with none other than Caroline Bryan, Brittany Aldean, Lauren Alaina, and Miranda Lambert.

With an evil smirk, I stalked my way over to her, only stopping to talk to a few people here and there. By the time I finally made it to where the girls were dancing, the music had changed from ‘Whiskey and Rain’ to the song that all of tiktok joked about was like the national anthem to get women out on the dance floor. Especially women over the age of 30. The thumping bass of ‘Back that ass up’ played over the speakers, proving that tiktok had been right. Every woman in attendance was now out in the middle of the yard shaking their asses, grinding into the other women and the few men that had ventured out. That included Luke and Caroline. Based on their dance moves, I know why they have so many kids now.

When I finally made my way over to Ash, she was so lost in the music, that I slipped behind her, placing my hands on her hips. As I did, she rubbed that glorious, perfectly round ass of hers against the front of my jeans, causing me to go hard instantly. I dug my fingertips into her hips hard as a low growl slipped past my lips. Here I was thinking that I was going to be the evil one and sneak in a dance with her. Yes, I was going to dance in front of people, shocker right? But as usual, she was the one stoking the flames; playing with fire.
