It was 8:00 PM. Edison gathered all of his students from his fifth period class (Yes, all eleven of them) and sat in his classroom.

"Hey mister, why are we here so late?" One student, Alex, asked.

"Actually I wanted to prepare you all for the finals so-" All of a sudden, the lights in Edison's room went out."Lovely, a black out." Edison walked to the window and looked out. Total darkness except for a ring of light.

"Oh! That's a total solar eclipse!" Cyan gasped, running after Edison."These things are rare."

"So much for moonlight. Well, I guess you should all go-" Edison started, pulling on the door handle."Wait! Why won't this open?!"

"Someone's locked us in from the outside." Edison mumbled."Well, students, we are stuck here for the night."

O-o-O-o-O-o-O-o-O

"Okay, I say we have a horror story contest. We split up into two teams of six. The group who makes up the most scary story wins." Cyan smirked. So the division went like this. On one team was Cyan and five students named Alex, Thomas, Lucy, Tatiana, and Jaylin. On the other was Edison, Janie, and four students named Paseleo, Cameron, Michelle, and Mileary.

Round One...

"Okay! Round one!" Cyan continued."As captain of Team Scary, I nominate Thomas to start."

"Fine then," Janie countered."As leader of Team Boo, I nominate Cameron."

"Hey... I thought I was leader?" Edison complained.

"You're name's already in the team name. You're co leader." Thomas stood up. He had bushy blonde hair and a somewhat lonesome stare that always trailed with him.

"My story is called the Mad Hatter. Amd this is how it goes..."

Deep in the alleys of New York lurked a man who always wore a cape and a dark top hat. Rumor says he lures children in using candy and chops them up while they scream for their mothers. He grabs a knife and at first, he cuts off their fingers, watching in pleasure as they scream in pain. Next, he cuts the hand into little pieces. He then chops off their arms that have been shaking rapidly to break away from the killer's grasp. He cuts off their head next. Some people say even though the head is gone, the children still scream and cry. You'd think that the children would've died by now, but it is said that his hat keeps them alive until their heart is pulled out from their bodies. The Mad Hatter has a secret lair under his house. There, he keeps his victims' hearts. To this day people say that the hearts hung up on his wall are still beating.

By the end of the story, everyone was shaking. Especially Edison.

"Cameron... show him who's boss." Janie cheered, not phased by Thomas' story.

"Okay, Janie. Here it goes..."

There was this girl. She looked normal. Blonde. Beautiful. Teens...

"Sounds like a person I know..." Cyan muttered.

The girl had one difference. She haunted the school. She was killed inside the school by a principal that tied her to the ceiling on the fourth floor. She hung there for thirty days. Late at night, she may rig the doors and lock in the teachers who stayed at the school to grade tests. One night, the principal himself stayed after school to do some paperwork. The girl tied him up and dragged him to the fourth floor where she hung him by the neck on the ceiling. The girl's spirit was set free but the principal's ghost still lingers. And the cycle continues for all of eternity.

"Okay. Be honest. Which one was scarier?" Edison asked. Majority confessed and said Thomas'."There. First round goes to Team Scary." Cameron sighed.
