Edison woke up of the side of Janie's bed, curled up in a ball. In front of him stood Cyan.
"You were grinning again." Cyan smirked. Edison threw a pillow at him.
"What do you want?!" Cyan took out a box wrapped in red ribbon. Edison eyed him curiously.
"Last time I checked, it was March, not December." Edison commented.
"What's today?" Cyan asked as if he already knew the answer.
"Uh...March 31st..." Edison dragged out slowly."Cyan! It's a Wednesday. Let me sleep until 6:30."
"Take the goddamn present and be glad I looked up your birthday!" Cyan threw the present at Edison.
"Oh yeah... today is my birthday." Edison realised. How did I not remember that? He opened the box to show a book. On the cover it said..."How to seduce a girl in 80 days..." Edison read in a monotone voice."Teacher's edition?! Where the hell did you find this?!"
"Oh! You actually swore!" Cyan pointed out.
"Oh come on! Hell's not a bad word. It's a place!" Edison protested."Where'd you find it?"
"My cousin's girlfriend's sister's mother's co-worker's niece who is married to my uncle gave me it." Cyan explained.
"You mean your aunt?!" Edison said in shock.
"Yeah... my aunt. I read it. There's some pretty good shit in there. Reviews and it says if you're either an English or Language teacher that it's easier than if you were a Math or History teacher. And the older you are, the more tips it gives." Cyan smiled.
"Oh I'm gonna kill you." Edison growled.
"Says the kid in footsie pajamas." Edison looked down at his alphabet footsie pjs.
"Look! Don't expect me to read this..." Edison started.
O-o-O-o-O-o-O-o-O
"Pay specific attention to that one sudent from day one..." Edison said, reading aloud the book Cyan gave him. The first thing he did was get a book cover for it so no one would see the title. He wore his usual button down shirt and some dark pants. On his head, he wore a black beret. On his neck, a plaid scarf."While in the first month or two of trying, you should not make it clear that-"
"I see you're reading the book I gave you, birthday boy!" Cyan cleared his throat. Edison stumbled off of the chair and looked at Cyan in total shock.
"Cyan! Stop sneaking up on me like that!" Edison exclaimed, picking up the book that fell on the floor.
"You like the book, don't you?" Cyan inquired.
"No... I didn't have anything else to read." Edison muttered, leaning on his desk.
"Oh yeah?" Cyan pointed to a Latin book right under Edison's elbow."So what's that book you're leaning on?" Edison looked down and acknowledged the book Cyan was talking about.
"I've been reading these Latin books for years, Cyan. I know them in and out." Edison said in defense.
"Whatever makes your boat float, Ghost-Meister." Cyan shrugged, moving to his seat just as the bell rang.
O-o-O-o-O-o-O-o-O
Right after school, Cyan guided Edison into a room he hadn't seen before.
"Hey... what's this?" Edison asked while taking off his jacket.
"It's your own personal room. I figured since you can't really go home because you'd have no way of getting to school, I'd give you a lovely room right next to Janie's." Cyan smirked.
"Ha ha. You're sooo funny." Edison said sarcastically.
"Nah, I'm dead serious. This is your new room. And I even did some stuff to it." Cyan clapped his hands twice. Instantly, the walls turned around. Edison gasped in shock.
"I got this lovely, future lookin' computer." Cyan said, touching the computer to show a screen-saver of, what else, ghosts. Or more specifically, Boos.
"That covers a whole wall?! Do you or Janie have this?" Edison inquired in disbelief.
"Well duh! Her father and my father invented these things by using some equipment from Windows. We have the only ones in the world." Edison deverted his attention to the fountain in the corner.
"Wha-" Edison started.
"It's a secret. But you'll see soon enough." Cyan smiled while heading for the door. Just then, Janie came in.
"Mr. Boo! Happy Birthday! I heard the news from Cyan and I wanted to give you something!" Janie exclaimed. Edison smiled.
"So what may that be?" Edison wondered. Janie handed Edison a box. He opened it in record time.
"What is with you two and Boos?" Edison laughed as he pulled out a beret with a little ghost pattern and a scarf with Boos everywhere.
"We think it suits you." The two said simultaneously.
"Remind me to change my last name before my next birthday." Edison muttered.
O-o-O-o-O-o-O-o-O
Edison woke up that night and stared at the fountain in shock. It was glowing red with many white flames going around it.
"C-C-C-C-C-CYAN!!!!!" Edison stuttered, scared for his life. And thus, his birthday ended with a scare.

By the way, Boos are like little round ghosts from Mario. ^-^
